Just switched from Plusnet to a cheaper company since my contract ran out. I’m pretty sure these calls I’m not bothering to pick up are from them. They’d probably hold on to more customers if they actually called with a decent deal when your contract ends instead of shoving you onto their regular prices.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Plusnet - looked like they were trying to push some extra services. This number rang me about 20 minutes after I’d just finished setting up my broadband as a new customer. I told them I was waiting for some money to come into my bank before moving forward with my order, then they asked if I had a credit card to pay with. Honestly, that really annoyed me - like who do they think they are to say that? Then they tried to pitch me a “better deal” and laughed, saying something about earning commission. Not sure if he was maybe new or just a bit cheeky, but it definitely didn’t convince me!

The nice comments here seem kinda suspicious to me. I’m pretty sure that the actual PlusNet help number wouldn’t change so often. Best thing to remember is don’t ever share your details with someone who calls out of the blue. That’s just asking for problems. If you get a scam call, you should tell the police through their Action Fraud site and also give a heads up to others here.

I looked up this number and it’s definitely Plusnet following up. But the bloke on the phone started asking for my account name and security info, so I just cut the call and told him to get in touch through the email they have on file instead. Seemed polite enough, but it felt odd they’d ask for that kinda info over the phone like that.

Plusnet have been really good - I got a nice call from a lady welcoming me as a new customer. It’s lovely to feel like they actually care, especially being an older person living alone.
