I've received an astonishing 16 calls from this number to date! I've picked up twice, and each time it was a different con. Once, they pretended to be from my bank, and the other time they asserted they were my internet service provider, attempting to "secure my computer." In the end, I said, "Are you aware you're calling a local police station?" And miraculously, the calls stopped!

This is about a firm named Newday Credit Cards. They offer credit cards used by loads of online stores, Amazon UK included. The frustrating thing is you can’t return their calls once you’ve missed them.

I received a message late on the 28th of December at around 2 PM. The number 01142906400 reached out to me. When I tried calling back, it turns out that the line doesn’t accept incoming calls. Thankfully, I’ve got my phone switched off during the night, so at least there won't be any disturbances.

they rang me once more today and i ended up picking up. they said they were from a company named new day and were phoning for debe hams. the bloke then started asking me security stuff which i had to answer. i said hang on, who’s calling who here? i wouldn’t give my name or address and just ended the call!

This number has taken to calling my mobile incessantly throughout the day, into the evening, and even at weekends. They never bother to leave a message, which makes it evident they're not after anything important-just a pesky sales pitch, I presume. I've just received a couple of those peculiar calls-one from a Sheffield area code and another from Leeds. The experience was exactly the same; I tried returning the call, but no one picked up. Is anyone else feeling a bit uneasy about this? Can these numbers actually be pinpointed to certain places? Shortly after, I got another call from 0151 290 1677, which I've seen listed on this site as well. It's quite possible that both numbers belong to the same company. I'm inclined to think it might be Sky, as I’ve noticed they often call to verify my line or something similar. So, it could very well be them trying to get in touch.
