Loads of missed calls from this number popped up on my phone, and the voicemails had that typical office noise in the background. I went ahead and blocked it, but now I’m getting identical voicemails from a different unknown number. Really strange!

This number rang me claiming to be from a law firm regarding a minor no fault accident I was supposedly involved in. I told them it was actually a serious crash, and I was fortunate not to be hurt, plus I’d already contacted several solicitors and accident claim services, none of whom would take my case since I hadn’t been physically harmed, just had financial losses. After that, I ended the call. Moments later, I got another call saying they were from Birmingham Police, mentioning the accident and my previous chat with their colleague. I asked which police station in Birmingham it was from, had a good laugh, and they quickly hung up. I definitely never spoke to anyone from Birmingham Police - especially since the accident happened nearly 50 miles away. Total scam artists trying to pull a fast one.

Around 5.23pm on 11 June 2015, I got a call from someone claiming it was regarding an accident I was supposedly part of. When I asked them for more details about when it happened, they just cut the call off!

Please don’t pick up, just a spam call.

I had no idea who was calling me as they left no voicemail, so I decided to check the number with 1471. After I switched on my refusal to accept calls, the number started showing up as 011388563. Looks like they got blocked now.
