Got a call from a bloke with a really proper English accent claiming he was Josh from Legal & General Life Insurance. He wanted to discuss my current policy details. I said alright but asked for my policy number first, since I don’t actually have life insurance with them. He replied “one moment please” and then just cut off. I got a call from some lifestyle and travel company offering a free discount card that promised savings on groceries and a free holiday for four. They told me I had to give my full name, email, sort code and bank account number so they could put £1 on the card to activate it. I refused and they went on about some direct debit guarantee to convince me it was safe. They also asked for the names of up to four family members as part of booking the holiday. When I told them to send the info through the post so I could think it over properly, they quickly lost interest.
