If you want to alter your policy, you usually have to contact them yourself. Does anyone else have experience with this?

I got a call from someone named Stella who accidentally mentioned she was ringing from India. She claimed to be from Domestic and General, or something like Domestic Home Guard, and said my Hotpoint washing machine cover was slashed from £120 a year down to £65 a week. Thing is, I don’t even own a Hotpoint! Complete rubbish. I just blocked the number straight away.

Honestly, why do some folks have to be so rude? I told him straight that I don’t have a washing machine policy since mine’s a British brand with a 9 year warranty from Ebac. Instead of just saying “Alright, no worries, goodbye,” he just cut me off and hung up. Proper annoying!

This number has rung me up three times claiming it was about a home insurance deal. I wouldn’t give away my full name, especially since the bloke already called me by a nickname. I told him my real insurer would have all my details anyway. Then he threatened to cancel the “policy” and said I’d have to pay a £210 cancellation charge. What really unsettled me was that he clearly knew my address, and with every call, he got nastier and honestly, it started to feel a bit scary.

Today around 3:59pm, I got a call from this number. The person on the other end verified my name but was super nasty and threatening. He actually said, "I know where you live," and confirmed my address before adding, "I'll send my lot round to your place to sort you out." Then he just hung up. When I tried calling the number back, it was connected to a national survey company, but no one picked up.
