About a week back, I received a call from 01137337075. When I picked up, they hung up without a word-quite the odd behaviour, isn't it? Naturally, that raised my suspicions, so I promptly blocked the number. Just checked my call history, and lo and behold, they've attempted to ring me a further twice! It’s crystal clear to me that this is nothing but a scam aimed at fleecing unsuspecting individuals. It’s high time that action is taken against these despicable folks!

Today I got a call from a lady who called herself Heather Neat. She told me I'd be receiving loads of free lottery tickets in the post soon. Then she went on about a deal where I could buy hundreds of tickets cheaper, plus some 12 week euro lottery scheme I could join. She sounded really friendly and cheerful, quite caring actually. But when she asked for my bank details to set up a direct debit for that euro lottery thing, I realised it was a scam and quickly ended the call.

If you get calls or texts like this, make sure to file a report with the police through their 'action fraud' platform. Loads of these scam attempts happen daily, but hardly anyone reports them, which means scammers keep getting away with it and some people actually fall victim. Just search for action fraud on the police.uk website, find the 'reporting' tab, then head to the phishing section. Scroll down past the info about scam emails and you can report the call without having to sign up. And please, don’t reply to any random cold calls - that’s exactly how they profit.

Today I received a call from someone saying I could get 10 free lottery tickets sent straight to my house. It sounded a bit fishy so I decided to double-check before I accepted.
