Got a text supposedly from Santander with a one-off code, but I never asked for it. Plus, the number they wanted me to call definitely isn’t Santander’s.

Just got a message saying it was from Santander with a code to approve an £800 payment for a Canon camera. It asked to ring a number if I hadn’t made the purchase. The thing is, I don’t even have a Santander account. Not sure who to alert about this, but glad I saw the other comments warning folks not to phone that number.

£785 for a camera? Seriously, who on earth is shelling out that much for one these days? Absolutely ridiculous, isn’t it? 😂

What’s even more baffling is that I don’t even hold an account with Santander!

I received a text stating that my one-time passcode is 759126 for a purchase of £728.55 to EXODUS. If this transaction wasn't initiated by me, I should urgently contact them at 01135184687. I've reached out to Barclays, and they've confirmed it's a scam - absolutely do NOT call back! This number is linked to some shady characters.

Purporting to be from Barclays, but let me tell you, they’re nothing but chancers and rather poor ones at that! They can’t even manage to pick up the phone. Honestly, it’s laughable! (Here's the full tale... Barclays: Your One-Time passcode is 783657 for a transaction of £925.00 at ARGOS. If this wasn’t you, please ring us immediately on 0113518468).

This text message has ‘scam’ written all over it. Seriously, why can’t these people just find a proper job instead of targeting old folks? It’s just not right.

I received a dodgy message that seems to be from Santander, requesting me to authorise a payment. The thing is, I don't even have an account with them, so it's quite suspicious that they've got my number along with details about a purchase I've made! Honestly, people should just find a proper job instead of resorting to this nonsense.

Just like others mentioned before, I got a dodgy text claiming to be from HSBC. It showed a one-time code for some £655 payment to NEXO. The message told me to call their number if I didn’t authorise it. I knew for sure I hadn’t bought anything like that, so I just deleted it straight away.
