Got a call from someone saying they were with the ‘Corona Virus Health Desk’, but the accent was so thick and hard to catch. They started asking if I’d had my vaccine and done any recent Covid tests. Since I do some volunteering for the Office of National Statistics, I figured it had to be connected. Then out of nowhere, they began asking about my life insurance. I asked what that had to do with anything, and they totally dodged the question. I ended up cutting the call short.

Then they said they worked for the UK Government and gave me some weird ID code that I didn’t recognise. They asked about my vaccine status. I told them I used to work for NHS Test & Trace and told them to take my number off their list and stop bothering people. Told them to leave me alone.
