Had a call from a woman with a really thick accent who said she was from O2, though she could hardly speak English properly. She was mumbling something about some kind of deal or discount. Since I’m already an O2 customer, I thought it was odd she didn’t even ask to verify who I was. I just told her I wasn’t interested and she ended the call straight away. Seemed dodgy to me.

This has got to be the strangest scam call I've come across: - Hello, we’re calling to inform you about a 40% discount on your bills. - Oh really? Which bills are those? - Pardon? - I said, what bills are you talking about? - Sorry? - I pay a bunch of bills - electricity, water, broadband - so which ones get the discount? - It’s for airtime. - Airtime? Could you explain what you mean? - Sir, did you experience any issues with your service? - What service are you referring to? - Any service. - None at all. Which service exactly? Internet? Phone? I found myself oddly hooked, trying to see where this would go. It was obvious it was a scam, but they couldn’t even clearly say what was on offer.
