Got a random call from 0113 419 9980, showing as Leeds on my phone. The person on the line knew my first name but weirdly kept asking for a Miss Laura without a last name. She wanted me to verify my identity and detail any life insurance policies I held. When I interrupted to find out who she was, she said she was from some company giving ‘impartial reviews’ of life insurance plans, trying to help me decide whether to keep, reduce premiums, or increase my cover. She refused to mention the company’s name though. I didn’t share any info and told her to take me off whatever list she was using - that’s when she abruptly ended the call. Absolute muppets on the phone!!! Ignored them at first but after they kept pushing, I just told them where to go. They were pretending to be from Zurich trying to do some yearly life insurance review, which is ridiculous considering I only took out the policy three months ago :/ Honestly, don’t waste your time or be courteous with these lot - they sure won’t be nice back if you don’t give them what they want. As the conversation unfolded, his tone escalated to a more aggressive pitch, clearly irked that I wouldn’t divulge any personal information, despite his claims that they had all the necessary details from my policy. Eventually, he lost his cool and hung up after I pointed out his lack of knowledge, reminding him that any insurance I have is sorted through my employer.

This number called me earlier this evening. The guy spoke with a Welsh accent and said he was from something called "Life Review," asking when I last checked my life insurance. I asked him what policy he meant, and he told me they’re working for companies like Aviva, Scottish Widows, and Legal & General. When I tried to ask about when I got the policy, he said they don’t have any of that info. Then he wanted to know why I even got the policy - but I told him I couldn’t answer since I had no clue which one he was on about, plus I use a financial advisor already. I received a rather dubious call from this number, claiming to be reviewing my life insurance. The caller didn’t seem very trustworthy, so I inquired about the company managing my policy. I made it clear that I was quite satisfied with my current provider. I've had calls from this number previously, and I've just received another one today. The last time, they inquired about a claim related to an industrial mishap I supposedly encountered in the last couple of years. I informed the individual, who spoke with a strong Asian accent, that I hadn’t experienced any accident at all. When I answered, they introduced themselves as being from the National Advice Centre, regarding some inquiry about my past employment in the industry. I was a bit taken aback and inquired how they had come by my number. Apparently, I was listed in their records. I informed them that I'd never even worked in that sector, to which they casually said, "Oh, I’ll need to amend our records then." I replied, "Yes, perhaps you ought to," and promptly ended the call while they were still chattering away. It's clearly a dodgy scam call! Can anyone actually be duped by these clowns? I was rudely awakened at 12:40pm by a female caller from this number, and I happen to work nights. I've been getting really annoyed with this number calling me on my mobile. I never pick up when it rings but decided to try ringing it back. All I ended up with was a voicemail saying it's the National Advice Line and then they gave another number to call if you want to talk to someone. That number is 01157629990. Got a missed call from this number roughly an hour back. They’ve called a few times before, saying their info shows I’ve worked in some sort of factory job and wanted to offer me a complimentary hearing assessment. I told them their details are wrong and asked them to stop calling, but they just keep ringing anyway! The caller was from the National Advice Centre.

This number rang me the other day, so I just told the bloke to remove me from his list and to stop ringing me, then I hung up. But today, the same annoying git called me again, this time from a withheld number, saying he was from First Response and asked for me by name. When I told him not to bother calling again, he got really nasty. I didn't hold back and called him a coward. For the past three weeks, this number has been ringing me around the exact same time every week. They asked about my previous job in industry, but I told them their info was incorrect. I politely requested to be removed from their spam list and ended the call. Now I’ve blocked the number, though it still shows when they try calling. Why isn’t there stronger laws to protect us from this kind of harassment? The phone companies really ought to let us fully block and report these annoying callers!

When you receive one of these calls, the cleverest move is to express your interest but kindly ask if they could hold for just a sec. Then, take your sweet time brewing a lovely cup of tea and pop on 'The Ten Commandments' for a good three and a half hours of entertainment. That should give them a taste of their own medicine, and at their own expense too! Absolutely ridiculous!

I received a call from this number, and they addressed me directly by name. The caller mentioned they had information regarding my previous employment in the industry. Before he could get any further, I interrupted and informed him that both my husband and I had served in the police, specifically in the fraud division. At that point, he simply cut the conversation short and hung up!

I had an unexpected call on my landline earlier today from a woman who specifically asked for me by name. She started off saying she thought I was associated with a certain industry. I just received a rather curious phone call from a lady named Laura, who claimed I had previously worked in her sector. Naturally, I questioned her about my TPS registration, to which she explained that since she wasn't attempting to sell me anything, it was permissible for her to ring me. I reminded her that the whole point of the TPS was to prevent unsolicited calls like hers, to which she cheekily replied, "Well, why do you even have a phone?" Quite amusing, really-seems to echo the replies others have been mentioning as well!

I've received a fair few calls from this number in recent months, all claiming I had some sort of job in an industry - you know the sort of thing, gibberish and nonsense. There was one time I decided to humour them a bit and inquired about which industry they were on about. To my utter surprise, the young lady mentioned a factory producing, would you believe it, adult toys! She went on to say that she was at university and resorting to this form of calling just to scrape together some cash - I couldn't help but tell her to find something more worthwhile to do. I suspect there's a way they profit from keeping you engaged on the line? Maybe they’ve got the charges switched around? I really haven't a clue, but they're incredibly bothersome!

This time, a bloke asked if he had the right name, and I said yes without giving it much thought, assuming it was just another sales call. But before he could say anything more, the call ended straight away... Definitely not answering if they call again and I’ll just block the number. I got a call from someone named Anne claiming to be ringing from my hometown. But when I mentioned the area code didn’t match and she didn’t sound local at all, she got all shifty and ended the call abruptly. She said she was with some Advice Centre but refused to give me any more info when I asked. So yeah, blocked her number straight away - caller claiming to be Anne from South Shields Advice Centre.

Whenever I receive one of those pestering calls, I always resort to the TalkTalk call blocking feature. It’s remarkable how much the volume of bothersome calls has dwindled since I started using it. One has to wonder, isn’t there legislation aimed at curbing these leeches?

This number rang me first yesterday and then again today. The caller claimed to be from the Industrial Injuries Office - which sounds rather dubious if you ask me! When I questioned them about the nature of the call, a rather evasive woman told me they were simply inquiring whether I had any experience working in heavy industry. Talk about vague! I’d recommend ignoring the call altogether or just blocking the number to avoid any further hassle.
