Got a random call from 0113 419 9980, showing as Leeds on my phone. The person on the line knew my first name but weirdly kept asking for a Miss Laura without a last name. She wanted me to verify my identity and detail any life insurance policies I held. When I interrupted to find out who she was, she said she was from some company giving ‘impartial reviews’ of life insurance plans, trying to help me decide whether to keep, reduce premiums, or increase my cover. She refused to mention the company’s name though. I didn’t share any info and told her to take me off whatever list she was using - that’s when she abruptly ended the call. Absolute muppets on the phone!!! Ignored them at first but after they kept pushing, I just told them where to go. They were pretending to be from Zurich trying to do some yearly life insurance review, which is ridiculous considering I only took out the policy three months ago :/ Honestly, don’t waste your time or be courteous with these lot - they sure won’t be nice back if you don’t give them what they want. Somebody rang me saying my life insurance needed a check-up since it hadn’t been looked at in 18 months. When I told them that wasn’t true, they got a bit annoyed and kept insisting they weren’t trying to sell me anything. They kept pushing for details about my policy, but when I asked which one, they obviously had no clue and just flipped the question back on me. As I refused to give out personal info, the caller got more and more irritable and aggressive, still insisting they knew it was time for a review from my policy details. Eventually, they hung up after I mentioned that they clearly had no clue and that any insurance I have is sorted through my employer.

This number called me earlier this evening. The guy spoke with a Welsh accent and said he was from something called "Life Review," asking when I last checked my life insurance. Got a call from this number again today, and I've dealt with it before. They asked me about some claim related to a workplace injury supposedly in the past couple of years. I told the person on the line, who had an Asian accent, that I never had any accident. After a quiet moment, he asked if maybe someone else in my family was hurt? Total scam move if you ask me. This number called me up asking for John ***. I said it was him, and then the woman said she was calling from the National Advice Centre about some hearing issue related to my time working in industry. I asked how they got my phone number, and she said it was in their database. I told her I've never been in any industry job, and she just said, "Oh, we’ll have to fix our records then." I told her yes, please do that, and hung up while she was still going on. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me. Does anyone actually fall for these nonsense calls? They’re just annoying time wasters. I've been getting really annoyed with this number calling me on my mobile. I never pick up when it rings but decided to try ringing it back. All I ended up with was a voicemail saying it's the National Advice Line and then they gave another number to call if you want to talk to someone. That number is 01157629990. Got a missed call from this number roughly an hour back. They’ve called a few times before, saying their info shows I’ve worked in some sort of factory job and wanted to offer me a complimentary hearing assessment. But today, the same annoying git called me again, this time from a withheld number, saying he was from First Response and asked for me by name. When I told him not to bother calling again, he got really nasty. I didn't hold back and called him a coward. For the past three weeks, this number has been ringing me around the exact same time every week. They asked about my previous job in industry, but I told them their info was incorrect. I politely requested to be removed from their spam list and ended the call. Now I’ve blocked the number, though it still shows when they try calling. Why isn’t there stronger laws to protect us from this kind of harassment? The phone companies really ought to let us fully block and report these annoying callers!

When you get a call like this, I find the best trick is to tell them you’re very keen but ask if they can hold on a sec. Then you pop off to brew yourself a cuppa and chuck on a long film, like 'The Ten Commandments', on your player. Should keep them waiting for a good three and a half hours - on their dime! Absolute pains, honestly!

This number called me and asked if they were speaking to me. They claimed they knew I had experience in a certain field, but before they went on, I said me and my husband have both worked in the police, specifically in fraud. As soon as I said that, the caller just hung up on me.

Today I got a call on my home phone from a woman who asked to speak to me directly. She then mentioned she thought I’d been employed in the industry. I said I wasn’t interested and told her not to call back. Then, just ten minutes later, she rang my mobile. That really got on my nerves and I told her once more to stop calling. I can block her number on my landline but there’s no way to block it on my mobile, which is really frustrating.

Some bloke rang me from this number claiming he was with The National Advice Centre. Out of nowhere, he started calling me a liar then just ended the call. If you try ringing back, they give you this other number: 0115 7629990 but every time I tried, the marketing team were "busy" and never picked up. Proper frustrating!

Got a phone call recently from someone named Laura who claimed I’d been in the industry before. When I asked why she was calling despite me being on the TPS list, she said because she wasn’t selling anything, it was fine. I told her the whole point of TPS is to block calls like hers, and she just replied with “Well, why bother having a phone then?” Kinda confirms what others are saying about these calls being nonsense.

This number has popped up quite a few times lately, with callers claiming I used to work in some industry or other. One time I decided to humour them and asked what industry they meant - turns out the woman said a dildo factory! She said she was a student and this was her only way to earn some cash. I told her to find a proper job and hung up. I guess someone profits from keeping you on the line, maybe the call costs are reversed or something? No clue really, but honestly, these calls are such a nuisance.

This number rang me earlier. Normally, I hold off speaking until they say who they are. This time, a bloke asked if he had the right name, and I said yes without giving it much thought, assuming it was just another sales call. But before he could say anything more, the call ended straight away... Definitely not answering if they call again and I’ll just block the number. No clue who they were, they hung up before explaining. Looked it up with 1471 and that’s the number that popped up.

I got a call from someone named Anne claiming to be ringing from my hometown. But when I mentioned the area code didn’t match and she didn’t sound local at all, she got all shifty and ended the call abruptly. She said she was with some Advice Centre but refused to give me any more info when I asked. So yeah, blocked her number straight away - caller claiming to be Anne from South Shields Advice Centre.

This number rang me claiming to be from an 'Industrial Health Clinic'. They told me my local GP surgery had passed on info that I’d been employed in Industry. When I asked how an NHS centre could share that kind of personal data, they said it came from the Industrial Workers Database. Probing more, they mentioned the database was managed by the Industrial Workers Office. Seems to me both the database and that office are totally made up. They did say they’d take my details off this alleged database though. They gave a company phone number as 01254691034 and mentioned they were located in Manchester but couldn’t answer any more questions about the firm. Gotta say, the caller was quite polite and pleasant, which is nice compared to typical spam calls. The caller ID showed 01134199980 according to my caller ID trace.
