They claimed to be from Ofgem, supposedly giving out free and unbiased advice - no sales pitch, just honest help. They said they were from the Meter Reading Office and wanted to inform me about tariffs. When I told them we were happy with our current provider and would handle things ourselves, they abruptly ended the call. Got a call from a woman with a northern accent who knew my name straight away. When I asked what she was after, she got all defensive and said I was being rude, adding "there's loads of that up here!" then she just hung up. I’m on the TPS and it was the third call today. She knew my name right away and kicked off with all the usual chit chat - how’s your day going, the typical stuff. When I asked who they were, she said someone had passed on that I’m involved in heavy industry. But the moment I asked what it was about, she just hung up! Another number straight onto the block list!
