Just had a dodgy call from someone claiming to be from "Domestic Appliances". They were prattling on about a supposed discount for my boiler cover, yet they hadn’t a clue how ancient my boiler is (the cover came bundled when I bought it) or even what my current payment was! Their bright idea was to cancel my direct debit and replace it with a new one, but they couldn’t give me a valid reason for that - funny how they didn’t bother with that nonsense when my bill increased!
