When she said she needed to check first, they passed her to some 'line manager'. They asked for her bank sort code but she refused to share it. After a bit, they just ended the call saying they’d ring back. Fortunately, my Mum knows her stuff with these scams and rang me up to make sure it was legit.

Got a call from a woman who already seemed to know loads about my boiler insurance and utility cover. She said since I hadn't made any claims, they were gonna knock about £10 off my monthly bill. Then she put me through to her manager who asked for my bank details to send me the refund. I told him to just put it back into the same account they take the payments from and then I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call about my boiler insurance supposedly being cheaper now. When I asked how they got my details, they said they've got my direct debit info. They phone daily for a couple of days, then stop for a few weeks before starting the whole thing all over again. I never pick up - it just goes straight to voicemail where they leave a message saying they'll ring again tomorrow. Total SCAMMERS, so watch out! They seem to focus on elderly folks - I had an elderly family member with dementia who they tricked into signing up for insurance she really didn’t need, and did it several times! He said it wasn’t a scam, just trying to help me save on insurance since I hadn’t claimed before. Sounded pretty slick.
