I received a call from someone purporting to be from Domestic and General. At first, they requested to verify my name and address. Following that, they mentioned a discount for loyalty and sought to confirm my direct debit information. I politely declined to share my bank details, reasoning that they should already possess that information. However, they persisted quite firmly in trying to obtain it. I stood my ground! It's fair to suspect it's a rather convincing scam, so do keep your wits about you!

I received a call from this number earlier today, and they were claiming to offer a substantial discount since I hadn't made a claim in ages. Clearly, they were fishing for my bank details. Got a call on my landline today at 11:16 am from this number. It was some woman with a thick foreign accent trying to sell me an appliance warranty. I was in the middle of something so I cut her off, told her to get lost, and then slammed the phone down.

I received a call from a firm claiming to be about domestic appliance insurance, stating I was due a refund. But, lo and behold, they wanted my bank details first! I decided to string them along to waste their time. I insisted they send any documentation to my home address, which they supposedly had on record. Received a call from someone introducing himself as ADAM, stating he was with Domestic Insurance, and that my insurance policy was due for renewal shortly. He inquired if I had any grievances regarding my coverage. I decided to humour him and mentioned that I did have a complaint: they hadn’t bothered to inform me that my insurance was on the verge of renewal. To my surprise, he had my name and address readily available. When I pressed him to clarify which items were included in my coverage, he swiftly listed off WASHING MACHINE, TUMBLE DRYER, OVEN, TELEVISION, and MICROWAVE. All seemed rather believable, but unfortunately for him, he’s mistakenly contacted the wrong individual for this little ruse.

I received a call earlier from someone with an Asian accent who knew my name and claimed to be from Domestic Appliance. I mentioned they'd rung me the previous day and I’d requested that they send any details in writing. That seemed to be the trigger for them to promptly end the conversation. This is just another addition to the myriad of unsolicited calls I've been enduring from a plethora of different numbers. Occasionally, if I’m feeling particularly mischievous or patient, I’ll indulge them in a chat, all while avoiding divulging any personal details whatsoever. I find it quite amusing to inquire about their location; the phone numbers or postal addresses they provide often turn out to be utterly fabricated, and the number on my caller ID seldom aligns with what they claim. One memorable encounter had a caller asserting he was situated in London, England! This was a glaring indicator that the call was originating from abroad, likely from someone who had never set foot in the country! While these nuisance calls can be bothersome, try not to let them rattle you; they are not worth your time or energy. Remember, you're far from alone in dealing with these bothersome individuals. I'll be reporting this incident to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as well.

I got a call from someone claiming they were ringing about insurance for my electrical stuff. I told them I don’t have any cover, but they insisted I did and even said they had my policy right there in front of them. They also said I was paying for it monthly. I told them that’s not true and checked my bank - there’s no sign of any payments for insurance.

Just got a call from some dodgy home appliance company trying to scam me. Watch out, they’re definitely not legit!

Got a message left by a lady saying I wasn’t home when she rang and that she’d call again about some home appliance cover. Thing is, I’ve never had any insurance like that. This is the third time I’ve been hit with this clear scam. Proper irritating!

I got a call from 01133308712 saying they were from Domestic and General Insurance, but it was obvious a scam. When I asked what items were actually covered, they gave me completely wrong details. I do have a few appliances insured through them, so I know for sure this was fake.

Got a call from Domestic Insurance Co claiming they wanted to talk about insuring my ancient washing machine - it's over 20 years old! I don’t have any cover like that, so I quickly figured it was probably a scam. The number was from Leeds, which was new to me. I just told the caller it was nice chatting and then hung up.

Got a call from 01133308712, some dodgy bloke claiming I had a "Domestic Insurance" policy with them. I tried to stay calm and asked for details about this so-called policy, but he just kept pushing harder. Eventually, I told him straight out to get lost and stopped taking the nonsense.

Beware of this home appliance con. They asked me for more than £500 to insure my appliances for three years, and that price supposedly included a discount because apparently I hadn’t made any claims the previous year. Thing is, I don’t even have any appliance insurance in the first place! Ridiculous much.

Got a call from someone who wouldn’t give their name but claimed my home appliances’ warranties had expired. Not shocking really, considering those things were bought about 26 years back. It was obviously a con, so I just hung up. Would advise you to do the same - they’re just trying to get you to part with your cash!

I’ve been getting messages on my answerphone from 01133308712, it’s some woman talking about appliance cover. Problem is, I don’t have any cover with them or anyone. She says they’ll ring again the next day, and sure enough, they do. This keeps happening all the time and it's really annoying. Does anyone know how to make them stop calling so often?

Received a call claiming to be from Domestic Insurance regarding a policy renewal. They had my name and address, which immediately raised my suspicions since I don’t actually have any coverage for domestic appliances. When I pressed for the company's address, the caller couldn’t provide it, merely stating it was located in Edinburgh. I’ve been getting these calls repeatedly, several times a week, all from various numbers. They are incredibly relentless and can turn quite aggressive if you attempt to explain that it’s a scam-sometimes they hang up on you instead.

I received a call meant for my grandmother, claiming her washing machine insurance was nearly due to run out. They asked for her bank details to supposedly renew it. The thing is, she's never taken out such insurance, so it’s clearly a dodgy scam!
