This guy called me up, sounded super sure of himself and said he was an insurance guy for my kitchen gear. He said he was from some domestic insurance company, not the one I actually have, which is Domestic and General. He kept pushing for the make and model info that my real insurer already has. I got a call from a woman with an English accent asking if Mr ****** was available. She was saying something about Domestic Insurance and that my kitchen appliance cover was about to expire. I wasn’t bothered to listen much since I had a similar call earlier from someone with an Asian accent. Back then, they tried to sell me cover for my microwave which obviously isn’t insured, so I knew straight away it was a con. I decided to keep the chat going for around 15 minutes just to waste their time till they finally got the hint.

Got a call from Domestic and General offering a 30% discount on kitchen appliance insurance cause I hadn’t claimed anything yet. Felt a bit off when they asked for my bank details - I already pay through direct debit so they’d have that info anyway. They seemed pretty convincing and friendly though.
