I keep getting these messages from some woman who just says she'll "ring back later." It's costing me loads and I'm stuck deleting them all day. It's such a hassle!

Received a call earlier, but they left a message. They mentioned they’d get back to me. Just sitting tight for their return call.

The caller never gave their name or any details, so I used Callguardian to stop the call from coming through again.

Totally agree, this number’s just a bogus computer-made UK landline that can’t be tracked! I’ve already sent a report to Action Fraud at https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-phishing and I’m also planning to write to my MP asking what Parliament is doing to push phone companies into using tech that blocks these fake untraceable numbers from showing up on our phones. Let’s all give it a go and see if anyone replies! Check who your MP is and get in touch :-) https://members.parliament.uk/members/Commons

These con artists keep calling me non stop, it's well annoying. Honestly, it'd be great if someone showed them the business properly, maybe with a bat or something, so they stop pestering folks like me.
4 years
Received a call purporting to be from an appliance insurance company, yet I don’t possess any of the appliances they mentioned. When I declined to "renew" a policy I never had, they got rather irate. Clearly, this is a dodgy operation.

SCAM ALERT! Make sure you report any scam calls straight to the police fraud website. Just search ‘action fraud’ on Google and find the ‘police.uk’ page. Head to the ‘report a phishing attempt’ section and carefully read all the info provided. Afterwards, fill out the form with all the details of the scam, including any web links or addresses involved. You don’t need to sign up or give personal details unless you’ve actually lost money to the fraud. The only way police can track and tackle these scams is if more of us report every suspicious call or message we get.

Got a recorded message from some recruitment outsourcing firm, but no one was available to speak to me. They said they'd ring back later. Feels like they're just checking if the number's active so they can try another scam call.
4 years
I received a rather curious voicemail from someone claiming to be with a 'recruitment outsourcing firm' - not really sure what that entails. They mentioned they were unable to put me through to a representative and would ring back later. It seems to me like they’re just trying to verify if my number is active for some dodgy scheme. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Oh great, here we go again with another one of those dodgy home insurance scams, folks!
4 years
Got a call saying they were from my appliance insurance, but I don’t even have that kind of cover. Definitely a scam!
4 years
Not sure, but it feels like a scam call. They didn’t leave any voicemail since I have a call screener that asks for a live ID before letting any messages or calls through, which really helps keep rubbish calls like that away from me.

I've had a guy calling me from abroad, saying I'd paid too much for my washing machine and that he'd refund me. He kept offering to put the cash into any bank account I wanted. Three calls in one week from someone named "Harry". Just an hour ago, he rang again. I just told him to forget it and keep the money!

Got a voicemail from a woman on 01133308719 about my home appliance insurance, said she missed me and would ring back tomorrow. Problem is, I don’t have any appliance insurance, so it smells like a scam, especially after reading what others said about this number. Why are these rubbish calls popping up more often now? I’ve had my number private for years, so how do these companies keep getting hold of it? It’s really annoying!
4 years
I think it was probably a scam. The person called about kitchen appliance insurance but kept getting confused. First they said I already had insurance, then suddenly said I didn’t. Seemed really dodgy to me.

My call blocker stopped this one so I didn’t even get a chance to answer, plus there was no message left which is fishy. Sounds like a scam to me, cheers to everyone who gave a heads up!

Got a call from a woman who kept insisting she was ringing about my home appliance insurance. I told her straight up I didn't have one but she kept going on about how the policy was linked to my address! I asked her which appliance was covered just to see what she'd say, and she named the washing machine. I told her that wasn’t right and ended the call. This sort of thing has happened to me before as well.

Got a call from some woman telling me my appliance warranty had expired. After hearing her nonsense I decided to have a bit of fun. When she asked how much it costs, I said four hundred quid. I told her for that cash I could pick up a washer and a hoover, plus enough left for a few pints! She seemed a bit lost with that, so I just ended the call. What a load of tossers!
4 years
Just like others have said, I blocked the number but it doesn’t really help since they call from different numbers every time. Doesn’t seem to stop them at all.
4 years
So the first person rang and asked for someone who wasn’t me, I just ended the call. Then they rang again, got the right name this time, and started asking about my appliances. They told me my payments wouldn’t change at all. But then they wanted my bank sort code. I told them that if they already had my info, I shouldn’t need to give that, and I don't share banking details on the phone anyway. After that, I just hung up.

They called me sayin I could get a discount on my policy since I hadn’t made any claims recently. Thing is, I did have a claim not too long ago, so it was pretty clear it was a scam.
4 years
At first, I thought they were calling from my home insurance for the appliances, but as we talked more, I got really iffy about it. When I asked for her name and my policy number, she admitted she wasn’t with my insurer. Still, she insisted she wasn’t cold calling me (which seems mad) and claimed she wasn’t doing anything wrong since I’m registered on the telephone preference service.

Got a call from someone saying “your stuff’s coming first thing in the morning.” Then they started asking for my bank info. Just block this number, it’s definitely a scam.

Pretty clear it was one of those dodgy appliance insurance scams. Somehow they already had my name and address, which was creepy. I asked what the company's called and he said something like domestic appliance insurance. I told him I’d never come across them before and we definitely don’t have any policy with them. He actually said sorry and then ended the call.

Had a woman call me one time, said “Hello Mr - - , domestic insurance about your kitchen stuff.” How on earth do they even know my name? Or guess how old I am? Told them off pretty quick. They still ring me pretty much every week, always from a new number as well. It’s getting a bit much now.

Got a call from some bloke using a male voice, asked for my name and said he was called 'male name' from Appliance Insurance. I told him to sod off and ended the call. He tried ringing back before I managed to block the number. I looked it up here afterwards to make sure it was dodgy.

For about 12 years now, this lot have kept ringing me even after I've told them to stop. They just won’t take the hint. They keep trying to sell me some kind of appliance insurance, saying I had it before or something. It’s always some robotic message. Proper annoying.

Got a call from 01133308791 offering insurance for white goods, but honestly, it sounds like a total scam. They claimed it was for some kind of general home coverage, but it felt dodgy from the start. Just told them off and ended the call. Definitely rubbish, so be careful!

Somebody rang me saying they were from Domestic Appliances and wanted to talk about the direct debit for my washing machine. I told them I don’t have any protection plan on the washer. They went on to say I might have forgotten because I hadn’t claimed yet, and that I was maybe paying more than needed, plus they had cheaper cover options. I always look at my bank statements closely and never saw anything about a direct debit for any appliance cover. So I just ended the call.

Got a voicemail from a woman about insurance for home appliances, said she’d ring back tomorrow. Thing is, I don’t even own any appliances that’d need it, so it smells like a scam to me. I received a rather curt, pre-recorded voicemail from this number, which simply stated, “I shall call you again tomorrow.” No further details were provided. Curiously, I’ve encountered this identical message multiple times from various numbers. Just last week, it came from a number in Cardiff. The message is always delivered by the same articulate woman, with an unwavering tone. It certainly reeks of a scam, doesn’t it?
