Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be from Microsoft, said she’d help clear a virus I supposedly had. Asked me to type stuff into the run box. Total scam, don’t fall for it! Absolutely dodgy behaviour.

Got a call from an Asian guy who sounded like Stephen Hawking. He claimed my computer was infected with a virus and kept telling me to follow his instructions. I asked if he was Stephen Hawking (I know he’s passed away) and straight away he hung up. He was pretty pushy until then. Luckily, I’m aware of these scams so I didn’t fall for it.

A guy with an accent rang up saying my computer was sending info to Microsoft about security issues when I used the internet or checked emails. He asked me to turn my PC on so he could fix the problems. I told him, "Why don’t you give me your details so I can report you for scam?" He just hung up. I then got in touch with the police, who directed me to Action Fraud. I reported it there, and they got all the info and gave me some good tips.

Spoke to an Asian guy about some trouble with Windows on my laptop. I asked him to clarify what the problem and risks might be but he wouldn’t tell me. Then I said I actually use a Mac, no Windows at all, and that I’d note down their number and report them. He just ended the call after that.

I received a rather unexpected call from a chap with an Indian accent, claiming to be from some Leeds number. He insisted that my Windows computer was churning out numerous error messages and that he could guide me through the process of rectifying it.
When I probed a bit about the company he represented, he eventually stated he was affiliated with Microsoft and wanted me to power up my computer while we spoke. I had to inform him that I wasn't currently at home, making it impossible for me to do so. When he inquired about a suitable time for him to ring back, I mentioned I was away for work and wouldn’t be free until at least the following weekend. The line cut off shortly thereafter...

Got a call from this number and also 01628605503, from a woman claiming my Windows had a virus. She kept insisting I switch off my laptop right away so she could put in some code. I told her I actually use an iPad, but she was adamant I had a laptop. When I stuck to the truth, she just ended the call.

I received a call today from someone claiming to be from a Windows alert. I told them I was busy at work, but as soon as I got online, I realised it was just a scam. When I called back later this evening, my wife picked up, and they said they would ring again on Monday. They’ve been calling from various numbers in Maidenhead and Leeds - what a bunch of complete numpties!

Got a call from a guy who said his name was Paul, sounded Asian, telling me my Windows PC was sending alarms about viruses and they needed to fix it by accessing my machine. I fibbed and said I use a Mac instead. They just ended the call after that. Honestly, never trust random people ringing about your computer issues.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming to be from Windows. Said they’d been watching my PC for a couple weeks and said I had a virus only they could sort out. Let him go on for a bit, then asked if they’re really watching why didn’t they notice my PC hasn’t even been switched on that whole time.

Proper pushy and kept going on about my PC being at risk of getting "kicked out" by Microsoft and Windows. Spent ages on the phone with them before, like a couple of hours, wearing me down and got me to pay for some dodgy software they installed. Ended up having to take my laptop to a trustworthy shop just to get that rubbish sorted. They phoned again today, still banging on that I needed to follow their instructions, but I wasn’t falling for it again - once is enough, honestly.

This morning at precisely 11:23, I received a call from this number. The caller, a woman, asserted that my Windows PC was inundating the network with numerous error messages. She insisted I should hop onto my computer so she could assist me in eliminating the malware responsible for this chaos. I responded, pointing out, "So you claim this issue originates from my Windows machine?" "Absolutely," she answered. "Well, here’s the catch," I retorted, "I don't actually own a Windows computer." To that, the line fell silent!

So this bloke claimed he was from windows inspection and then told me to grab my card. I asked, "Which card?" He said my debt or credit card. I then asked why he needed it and he just ended the call. Would’ve been quite something to hear what he was going on about lol.

Lol they rang me with that classic Windows repair scam. I said hang on while I started my computer (never really did). After a few mins, I heard him getting all annoyed saying hello over and over. Then I gave the phone to my 4 year old. He got proper annoyed and ended the call. Hopefully it saved others from getting hassled while I messed with him a bit.

Received a phone call earlier from a woman with an Indian accent, saying that my computer was supposedly sending out error notifications and she was keen to guide me through the removal of a virus. I politely mentioned that it wasn't the best moment for me and asked her to ring back another time. After a quick glance on this site, it's crystal clear that it's just a scam.

It's rather peculiar how they managed to access my computer, especially considering my role in the cyber intelligence division for the Ministry of Defence. They never bother to return my calls, which adds to the mystery!

I received a phone call from a gentleman with an Indian accent, claiming that my computer was compromised. When I inquired about how he got this information, he spun a rather dubious tale about Microsoft allegedly sharing personal details. I told him I didn't buy it, pointed out that Microsoft wouldn’t operate like that, and ended the call. A quick look on this site confirms that it’s another scam.

I highly doubt that this is the Windows tech team we're dealing with. When on earth will someone take a look at these bloomin' bugs? What's the point of flagging these issues if no one lifts a finger to sort them out? It’s starting to wear thin on my patience and it’s not doing my wellbeing any favours either. Honestly, if I could get my hands on them, I’d be taking matters into my own hands! Cheers, Tom.

Is there seriously a call centre in Leeds just pumping out these annoying calls? Now it’s the windows support team, once again.

Received a dodgy call claiming to be from Windows, saying they had my product key. When I asked them to specify which operating system I had, they completely fluffed it and couldn’t answer. My suspicions were raised, and just like that, they hung up on me. Very fishy indeed!

Got a call from someone claiming to be "Alex Smith" from across the pond. He said he was with "Windows," so naturally, I thought he meant replacement windows for the house. That caught him off guard and he awkwardly said, "No, computer windows." When I asked if he worked for Microsoft, he just dodged the question. "Alex Smith," yeah right, more like Devinda Gupta. What a total twat.

I’ve just received a phone call from that very same number. A chap - seemed to have a foreign accent, possibly Indian - claimed he was calling from Windows, stating there was an issue with my computer’s security. I informed him quite firmly that everything was functioning perfectly fine on my end and suggested that his call was most likely a scam attempt. When he probed for my reasoning, I chose to end the conversation abruptly and hung up.

I received a rather dubious call from them earlier-an Indian chap on the line claiming to be from Windows, stating they had detected numerous error messages emanating from my computer. I responded with a word of caution, saying, “Feel free to continue, but I do find this rather suspicious.” To my surprise, he promptly disconnected the call. Quite the encounter!

Just got a call from some bloke with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be from 'Windows', going on about my laptop sending suspicious stuff online even though I havent switched the thing on for yonks, like 8 months or more. When I asked how it was even connected to the internet if it wasn't even on, he says hackers can get in whether it's on or off! Poor guy couldnt even keep his story straight in one call, what a mess!

Got a call from some so-called Microsoft rep telling me about problems with my PC - problem is, I don’t even have one. Played along for about 11 minutes, then asked how she can live with herself, spending her time scamming people over the phone. She just hung up without a word! Make sure to block these numbers and tell others to do the same. I know an older lady at work whose husband was tricked by this rubbish and had all his money wiped out. The bank said he’d given them authorisation, so they blamed him, which is just awful.

Yesterday 27/10/17 I noticed a missed call on my landline from this number. Lucky me, I didn’t pick up and there was no voicemail. Whenever some random number calls, I usually answer with: Hello, Action Fraud, how can I assist? They just hang up and never call again. Another one I use is: Hello doctor, is that you? Thanks for getting back to me, I’m in awful pain. They end the call quickly. Give it a go x

Me: “But I don’t own a computer.”
“Our records indicate there’s a computer registered at that location.”
Me: “And how exactly do you know that when I’ve never registered one? This is just a mobile!”
“...........” silence ensued
Earlier today, Amy rang me again from 01782 756234 based in Stoke-on-Trent.
Amy: “More of the same nonsense.”
Me: “Just a friendly reminder that all calls are recorded and monitored for training and quality assurance... by the authorities.”
