This number kept ringing me all day but i just ignored it, and now ive gone ahead and blocked it.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Opus Energy, saying there had been some mistake in my postcode area and asking me to verify my supplier number. I rang Opus Energy straight away and they told me it wasn't them who called. This is definitely a scam trying to trick you into handing over your supplier info. They want to switch your energy contract to a different company to earn a commission! Don’t share your supplier number with anyone, your actual energy company already has that info.
