Got a silent call bright and early on Saturday - nothing surprises me these days, must be one of those rubbish scams just chilling. So typical, really.

This number has called me like four times now. Most of the time it’s just silence, so I end up hanging up. Once, there was a woman with a thick accent who actually knew my name. I just told her “No thanks” and shut the phone. Not a fan of these calls at all.

When the person phoned, I told them right away that we don’t take cold calls. They asked for the company name but I refused to say it. The caller’s accent wasn’t English, so I reckon it might have been some kind of scam or phishing. Seemed quite fishy to me.

If you use BT's blacklist, you might notice that this number never shows up in your main phone history, so it didn’t actually ring through. However, it does appear in the call attempt records. I hadn’t personally blocked this particular number before, which makes me think BT’s blocking system stepped in automatically or maybe the spoofing they tried fell short for me.

The person had a strong Asian accent and it was hard to catch what they were saying. Seemed like a scam, probably trying to do one of those fake surveys. The caller ID showed a name from someone who owned my place like 20 years back. I just hung up straight away.

Looks like this number’s been “spoofed” [bogus, fake] and is one of those “unrecognised” types you can’t just ring back. Some folks here nailed it already, like spotting “a guy with a foreign accent struggling to speak English” - classic scammers, probably calling from who knows where. Best bet? Block ’em straight away once you get near your phone or laptop! :-)

I could hear loads of noise in the background, like it was a call centre of some sort. He tried to guess my surname but wasn't even close. I told him he sounded pretty far away and just ended up blocking the number. Proper annoying, that was.

I got a call from a bloke with a strong foreign accent, and his English was really hard to understand. He said he had my name and claimed I’d done a survey before, wanting to ask about the appliances in my house for some lifestyle study. I told him he seriously needed to improve his English if he expected me to answer questions on the phone, then I just ended the call.

Just got a call from Chanii, said it was from Today's Habit or something. Spoke for a minute or two before they suddenly hung up. They wanted to do some kind of household survey with questions, but honestly, seems like another scam to me. Hope they find real work instead of bothering folks like this.
