Seems like they’re trying to stop phone scams or something. I asked this bloke, sounded Asian, why he was calling me but he got a bit irritated when I asked him to say it again. So, I just ended the call.

Just got a call from 01002 6230, it only rang a couple of times before I picked up, but the moment I did, they cut off right away. Feels a bit dodgy if you ask me.

Phone stopped ringing after only a couple of times. Tried to find who it was but no luck. Think it’s one of those scams.

Got a call from someone saying they wanted to stop nuisance calls. They asked for my credit card info, so I gave them the expiry date but when they asked for the name on the card, I just ended the call. Felt a bit dodgy, really frightening...

Scam calls happen even on weekends, it's crazy. I've started keeping my answerphone on round the clock just to catch them.

Just like everyone else mentioned, it was an Indian voice on the phone trying to scam me by asking for my bank info.

I just got two calls from these guys claiming they put an end to scam calls. Then why on earth did they want my card details? I didn't give them anything and then this bloke asks if he should pop round in an hour. He said he was in Wembly, WA, but that’s miles away - would take about three hours to get here! Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

I got a call from this number earlier, but since I’m always wary of unknown callers and had read a bit about it on the news, I didn’t pick up. I use a phone with caller ID and always make it a point not to answer numbers I don’t recognise.

Hey guys, please spread the word about this!

I just received a call on my landline from someone who was trying to scam me. The caller ID showed 01002. The bloke, calling himself Shaun, sounded like he had a thick Indian accent. He was asking loads of questions about my home.

Be very careful and don’t give them any details at all! They’re just after your personal info!!!

Some woman said she was from a service that helps block scam calls. She asked for my Visa card expiry date and the name on it. She already had my name and address, which was odd. When I requested a phone number to ring her back later, she gave me a random 13-digit number that didn’t link to anything. Total scam, be careful!

They actually had my name and where I live, said they'd make sure we never get marketing calls again, but once they started going on about some Visa card, I just ended the call.

I received a call from a number starting with 01002, and it was a woman with a thick northern accent claiming to be from Three. She was inquiring about our mobile phone usage and proposed that she could help us save some money on our bills. We mentioned that being a Three customer, he should already have access to our usage data, so we kindly declined to share any personal information and hung up.

I've recently had a couple of missed calls from this number, and it quite clearly seems like one of those attempts to 'help' us cut down on our phone expenses, as we seem to receive a fair number of them. Much appreciated for sharing this information; it certainly saves us the hassle of answering and squandering our time! 😊

Had two calls from this number today, but didn't pick up either time. We tend to think that if they don’t leave a message, it probably isn't worth our attention. Still, I looked them up online just to be on the safe side. Better to be cautious, right?

Got a call from some guy abroad saying he was with Microsoft, saying I needed to turn on my PC to install something that would stop hackers. Didn’t come across as proper at all, didn’t even know my name or any details. I told him I was way too busy and ended the call. Definitely feels like a scam to me. I’m going to reach out to Microsoft and report it to the cops. These calls tend to come through at all hours and they’re pretty unsettling. Make sure you report these dodgy calls and get your phone company to block them, that’s what I’m planning to do.

I'm getting calls nonstop, like 6 times every single day! It's driving me mad. Does anyone know how to make it stop?

This number just called me again, it’s the same one that phoned around this time last year. They tried to get me to pay more than £300 to fix an issue. I hung up, but they kept ringing back. It got really stressful, ended up upsetting me a lot. They even managed to break into my computer and messed it up so badly I had to buy a new one. Watch out for these scammers, they’re definitely not to be trusted.

I've been receiving calls from this number on a daily basis. Usually, I let them ring, but on the odd occasion when I do pick up, the line disconnects immediately. However, just yesterday, a gentleman informed me that he was ringing regarding my computer. He claimed there were illegal files on it and that I needed to update my IP address. Before I could respond, the call abruptly ended. I suspect this might be a scam of some sort.

This number has rang me a couple of times today. I didn’t pick up either time and no message was left on my voicemail. Feels like one of those dodgy scam calls to me.

I received a call from this number earlier, and after going through everyone's comments, it seems like it might be connected to some sort of central call centre. It appears that my number is listed somewhere on record, prompting them to ring me up. When I pick up, if there's an operator available, they will engage in conversation with me. If not, I simply get left hanging with a buzz or the line drops. Quite a curious situation, really!

My wife recently turned on our brand new laptop and somehow let these lot access it. Thankfully, all they did was install some dodgy software that was pretty easy to remove. They then started giving her bogus warnings that really upset her. When they called again, she just hung up. They kept ringing though, and sometimes when answered, it was just dead silence. Next time, I answered and asked if there was an issue, they said yes, something's wrong with your computer. I told them to buzz off, and they actually dared to ask if I told them that! I said yeah, and slammed the phone down. Can't stand these freaks - they seriously need to get a proper life.

For the past several days, this number kept ringing me. At last, I answered and it sounded just like one of those computer scams. I let the bloke talk for a while before telling him I’d been burgled last week and didn’t have a computer now. He acted all sympathetic and then said, “How could anyone do that to someone as lovely as you?” I asked, “And how do you know I’m lovely?” He said, “I can see you.” I was like, “How’s that then?” and he goes, “With my eyes.” It was so creepy I just ended the call.

I recently received a call from this number, and as soon as I answered, I heard a woman's voice leaving a message saying, "We were unable to connect your call." Then, the line just cut off! Quite peculiar, isn't it? It's a bit odd, considering they were the ones who called me in the first place!

Received a call looking for my stepdad, who passed away about eight years ago and used to live here. The person claimed to be from Windows and told me to turn on my computer and press 'START', even though it was already on. I asked which company they were with, and they said “Global Technical Support.” Then I asked where they were based, and they mentioned Reading in Berkshire. When I requested a proper address, all I got was a bit of mumbling before the call abruptly ended. I'm pretty sure it was one of those common scams where they try to charge you for fixing fake issues. Thankfully, I was aware of this type of trick beforehand.
