00999999999 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 00999999999 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance involving scam calls primarily from individuals claiming to represent UK companies like Microsoft, BT, TalkTalk, or insurance agencies linked to Royal Mail. Callers often use Indian accents and employ deceptive tactics such as urging recipients to download software or divulge sensitive information. Many calls feature silent or withheld numbers, with no response when answered. Multiple users report harassment through frequent calls, attempts to extract bank or personal details, and aggressive behaviour when challenged. The Telephone Preference Service appears ineffective against these calls. Victims are advised to remain cautious, avoid following unsolicited computer instructions, and report incidents to authorities such as the police or fraud squads to protect personal and financial security.

Received a call from some bloke claiming to be Aaron Smith, said he was ringing from Thames Valley Park in London about some Microsoft problem. Turned out to be a scammer from an Indian call centre. As soon as I started asking questions, he just ended the call. Total waste of time.

this morning i got a call from someone called “jason” - sounded indian - saying he was from uk lifestyle, using a number that probably just makes it easier for them. since then, over the last few hours, ive had about four more calls from uk lifestyle but these times the numbers were hidden. really makes me wonder if they’ve got nothing else to keep them busy? also, does the telephone preference service actually do anything anymore? seems pointless.

These individuals are also using the number 09999999999, as I have received calls from both of these numbers. They claimed to be from British Lifestyle and asked if I would answer a few questions. I promptly ended the call after insulting them. Fortunately, I have a BT TrueCall feature that allows me to block such unpleasant people.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, telling me there was a problem with my internet and that I needed to install some software. Then they asked if my computer was turned on and wanted me to press some keys. I just ended the call straight away and reported it to the police and fraud squad. Honestly, if anyone calls asking about your computer being on, write down the number and let the authorities know. They’re usually trying to get into your bank or personal details. Stay careful out there!

I was abruptly woken up at 6:38 am this morning. In my befuddled state, I thought it might be our elderly neighbour, who has our phone number in case she requires assistance. Fumbling in the darkness, I stumbled towards the phone, disoriented and unaware of my surroundings. However, it turned out to be a lady with an Indian accent on the line, which greatly irritated me. The TPS (Telephone Preference Service) didn't prove to be helpful in preventing such calls. Do you have any suggestions to offer?

Woke up to my phone buzzing at half past six this morning. When I picked up, all I could hear was silence on the other side. Bit odd, especially since I did deal with royal mail just yesterday (check my note from 28 Nov 2014).

The nefarious individuals conducting insurance scams in India employ a cunning tactic - they operate under the guise of a typical call centre from India. Although they utilize different phone numbers, the voices on the other end remain suspiciously familiar. These scammers possess certain personal details about us, presumably obtained from Royal Mail. Their audacious claim is that they represent an insurance company affiliated with Royal Mail, assisting us with a small claim that has been accepted by the postal service. It is unclear whether they have maliciously hacked into Royal Mail's systems or if there is an unscrupulous insider. Regardless, their initial approach appears distressingly convincing.
