00999999999 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 00999999999 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance involving scam calls primarily from individuals claiming to represent UK companies like Microsoft, BT, TalkTalk, or insurance agencies linked to Royal Mail. Callers often use Indian accents and employ deceptive tactics such as urging recipients to download software or divulge sensitive information. Many calls feature silent or withheld numbers, with no response when answered. Multiple users report harassment through frequent calls, attempts to extract bank or personal details, and aggressive behaviour when challenged. The Telephone Preference Service appears ineffective against these calls. Victims are advised to remain cautious, avoid following unsolicited computer instructions, and report incidents to authorities such as the police or fraud squads to protect personal and financial security.

I’m in search of a long-distance calling card that works well for South America, particularly for places like Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina, among others. Any recommendations?

Received a call from some bloke claiming to be Aaron Smith, said he was ringing from Thames Valley Park in London about some Microsoft problem. Turned out to be a scammer from an Indian call centre. As soon as I started asking questions, he just ended the call. Total waste of time.

this morning i got a call from someone called “jason” - sounded indian - saying he was from uk lifestyle, using a number that probably just makes it easier for them. since then, over the last few hours, ive had about four more calls from uk lifestyle but these times the numbers were hidden. really makes me wonder if they’ve got nothing else to keep them busy? also, does the telephone preference service actually do anything anymore? seems pointless.

I’ve had calls from both those numbers too, like 09999999999, with some supposed British Lifestyle lot asking if I could answer a few questions. As soon as I picked up, they just hung up - proper annoying. Thankfully, I use BT TrueCall, so I can block these total muppets with ease. What a bunch of eejits!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, telling me there was a problem with my internet and that I needed to install some software. Then they asked if my computer was turned on and wanted me to press some keys. I just ended the call straight away and reported it to the police and fraud squad. Honestly, if anyone calls asking about your computer being on, write down the number and let the authorities know. They’re usually trying to get into your bank or personal details. Stay careful out there!

Got a call this morning at 6:38am and it totally threw me off. I figured maybe it was our old neighbour knocking since she's got our number for emergencies, so I fumbled over to the phone half asleep. But the lady on the other end with the Indian accent really got on my nerves. Signed up for TPS but it didn’t stop her. Does anyone know how to deal with this kind of thing?

Woke up to my phone buzzing at half past six this morning. When I picked up, all I could hear was silence on the other side. Bit odd, especially since I did deal with royal mail just yesterday (check my note from 28 Nov 2014).

This number usually rings around 8 in the morning. We let the caller know our conversations are recorded, and after hearing that, they just hung up. Honestly, they didn’t seem bothered even when we shouted at them.

Got a ring from this number earlier, bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from TalkTalk saying there was some dodgy stuff coming through my internet. He told me to get onto my computer straight away. I asked him what he meant and started asking some questions, which seemed to annoy him. When I kept doubting him, he just cut me off and ended the call.

Just a heads up about 00999999999 - totally a scammer! They ring you up claiming your Windows licence has expired, which is complete rubbish. Be careful everyone, they must've got hold of your info from somewhere. Don’t fall for it!

Scam calls from people claiming to be insurance agents from India are really annoying. They call from loads of different numbers, but it’s always the same crew on the other end trying to act like they’re a proper Indian call centre. They mention stuff about us that makes it sound like they’ve got info from Royal Mail, and say they’re an insurance outfit linked to Royal Mail (we actually have a minor claim with Royal Mail that they’ve acknowledged). Whether they’ve somehow hacked Royal Mail’s system or there’s a dodgy insider helping them, it’s shady. Still, at first, the whole thing sounds like it could be legit.

Some bloke with an Indian accent said he was from the London Business Rates office and wanted to talk to the person who owns the business. I asked why he was calling from a number that wasn’t even a London one, but he just kept pushing to speak to the owner anyway. I told him the owner wasn’t available and then just ended the call.
