I received a call from this number, but when I tried to ring back, it was just silence. Quite odd, really. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Got a few calls earlier today but no message was ever left on the voicemail. The number seemed really dodgy, probably a fake one. Quite odd, to be honest.

I wonder how many rings they'll go through before they finally stop. Luckily, I've got a call blocker to save me from all that hassle.

We’ve just experienced the same silent call from the number mentioned above.

Received this call twice in a fortnight; does anyone know if it’s from a legitimate organisation or just yet another scamming con artist trying to make an easy buck? I'm starting to suspect that participating in their survey might end up costing me a fiver per minute or something along those lines.

On 17th Sept 2016 at about 2:45pm, a man claiming to be Kevin from BT rang up about my internet. I wasn't having any of it and rudely told him to buzz off.

I've been receiving numerous calls from this number, but every time I answer, there’s utter silence on the other end. It's quite peculiar! Surely, there's someone out there who can sort this out.

I received a call from this number earlier today, around 10:40 in the morning. A man with a foreign accent introduced himself as Richard and claimed to be reaching out from accident investigations. Unfortunately, the connection was quite poor, cutting out a couple of times before eventually dropping altogether. Just a heads up, we're also on to this.

It was rather odd, I must say - just a complete lack of noise. As soon as we tried reaching out to those recently dialled numbers on our device, this peculiar number popped up: 001000000000. Who exactly claims ownership of this number, and who on earth is behind those calls?

We recently received a call from this number, but it was completely silent on the other end. Does anyone have any information on this?

Received a call from someone claiming they were looking into an accident involving a relative of mine from the past three years. They didn’t bother to ask for my name or any details about my connection. Instead, they insisted that I was legally required to provide some information. I firmly told them to send me any correspondence in writing. The caller was male and had an accent reminiscent of the Far East.

There's a nifty little service out there known as "Choose to Decline." It allows you to have a bit of control over incoming calls, letting you pick and choose who makes it through to you. You can block as many as ten phone numbers, which is quite handy. Quite straightforward too - after you've received a call from a number you want to bar, you just punch in a five-digit code, and voilà! The last caller is now blocked. Most phone providers should offer this without any extra charges; at least, that’s been my experience with mine - I haven't seen a penny added to my bill for it.

I got a call from this number at 9:15 in the morning. When I picked up, a woman with a foreign accent (sounded like she might be from Asia) claimed to be representing Microsoft. I'm fairly certain this is a scam, so I promptly ended the call.

I experienced precisely what others have described. I was jolted out of my slumber by a phone call that I chose to ignore. Curiosity got the better of me, so I dialled 1471 to trace the number, and lo and behold, it was the very same one. After that, I was instructed to simply hang up.

I received a call this evening from this number, but there was no one on the line when I answered.

So, I picked up the phone and greeted the caller, but they didn't respond at all. I could hear what seemed like office chatter in the background. I tried using 1471, and the automated voice confirmed the number but advised me to hang up. This all happened around midday, give or take. Quite a peculiar experience, to say the least!

I’m absolutely sick of this incessant calling! They seem to think it’s acceptable to phone me three or four times daily. It’s beyond ridiculous! I'm seriously contemplating tossing out my phone and computer altogether just to find some peace and quiet. Cheers to a more tranquil existence, spider 55.

I've just had a call claiming they were from BT, trying to peddle the same old ruse about a supposed virus on my computer. When I pressed them for a telephone number, they simply cut the line. Classic scam tactics, if you ask me!

I received an unsolicited call the other day, and when I dialled 1471, it revealed this number. It seems that someone's manipulating the system, and it really ought to be addressed-it's not exactly complicated for the telecom companies. Perhaps they're profiting from these nuisances and have no inclination to put an end to it. An inquiry is certainly in order, though I’m not overly optimistic, given their track record with sensible actions.

I've received two calls from this number this morning, and each time they're after someone completely different. It's rather irritating, to say the least!

Every time my folks return home, they make sure to dial 1471 to check who’s been trying to reach them. Recently, this particular number popped up, and instead of the usual spiel, the automated voice instructed us to "please hang up" - which seems rather odd for 1471, doesn’t it? My mum was quite curious about what kind of number this could be. A quick search online suggests it might be linked to some sort of scam, which is frankly worrying. We really need to put a stop to this! They’re getting on a bit and it makes them nervous.

I keep receiving calls from this number, and every time I pick up, they just cut the line. It’s rather frustrating!

We've just had another call from this number tonight, and it seems like we're constantly inundated by various others as well. Whenever we dial 1471-just as we've been doing-and hit number three to return the call, I'm convinced it’s going to cost us a fortune! Why can't we have calls from just the individuals and businesses that we actually want to hear from? Sure, I understand that marketing folk are out to make a quick buck, but this is quite the unsavoury method of doing business. Especially considering, as someone else mentioned, the vulnerability of the elderly and those in poor health when they receive these unsolicited calls-it’s truly alarming to think about.

I just received a rather dubious call from this number. A woman with a foreign accent claimed she was representing Microsoft, insisting that my computer was riddled with a virus. When I inquired about how she obtained my number, especially since we’re listed as ex-directory, she claimed the computer merely dials random numbers. She went on to say that they would provide a code for me to enter, allowing them remote access to my laptop to "fix" the issue. I mentioned that I had looked up the code and discovered it was a scam. They tend to spin a tale about removing a virus while requiring you to download certain software, which ultimately hits your wallet hard. Is there any means by which I can report these charlatans? I’ve already registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but evidently, it's not doing any good. When I told her I had contacted the authorities, she just blathered on, so I ended the call while she was still rambling.

Merci d'avance !

I recently received a call from someone who claimed that my computer was harbouring a virus and insisted I needed to access my device so he could assist me. I informed him that I only possess a tablet, not a laptop. Then he proceeded to inquire if I was a certain Mr. Mucktarshamy. I responded in the negative. He then randomly asked for my name, but I chose not to answer. After a rather awkward silence of about ten seconds, he abruptly terminated the call.

It appears there's a rather excited pre-recorded voice informing us that we've snagged ourselves a complimentary boarding pass for a swanky cruise. Oh, how utterly ridiculous do these folks think we are! It does make one ponder, especially with the growing concern for our vulnerable senior citizens or those not in the best of health, being drawn into such nonsense!

Just a little tip for anyone dealing with these pesky calls: I've noticed that if I let the answering machine pick up, they tend to hang up and then usually call back later. However, if I pick up and then promptly disconnect, they seem to lose interest altogether. Before I adopted this tactic, I was receiving a bombardment of over 10 calls a day! Now, I've managed to reduce it to about two a week. Today, I received a call from this strange 001 number, so I'm intrigued to see if they dare to call again. Wishing you all a lovely Christmas, folks!

What a load of rubbish! I've had three calls from these jokers today. The moment you answer and inquire about their company, they just cut off. It's infuriating and really adds to the phone bill!

It's more than just an ordinary con artist; I recommend digging deeper into this one.

Received this number a couple of times over the past fortnight. Does anyone have a clue whether it's a legitimate business or merely some dodgy scammer looking to swindle a few quid? I'm starting to suspect that filling out their survey might set you back a fiver per minute or some such nonsense!
