I got a call on Monday 9th November 2020 from someone claiming to be from Outreach, saying my internet was hacked and there was strange activity on my connection. The caller sounded like an American bloke, so I just hung up. Later, I looked up the number: 0208 9535752. I decided to ring it back and a nervous woman answered, telling me it was a private number. Not sure if these scammers are managing to mask their calls as private now or what.

Got a phone call from a robotic voice saying they were booking a BT engineer to sort out a bill for over six million pounds. Absolutely ridiculous and a bit scary too. Earlier on, I had a couple of calls from men with Indian accents saying they were from BT Openreach. When I told them I was recording the conversation, they just slammed the phone down. Such nonsense!

Just like many others here, I reckon it was a scam.. and their English wasn’t great either, made me suspicious straight away.

Claimed I was experiencing issues with my internet connection and warned that ignoring him would lead to major repercussions. Mentioned they’d sent an email I hadn’t responded to, but in reality, there was no email received at all. Thank goodness I managed to put an end to all this nonsense!

I’m getting calls from this number a minimum of twice a day. I blocked it ages ago, but bizarrely, they still manage to leave messages on my answering machine. It's rather frustrating! I really do wish the telecoms companies would take more effective action to put an end to these irritating nuisance calls.

An Asian gentleman rang me, claiming to be from BT Openreach, insisting that my broadband had been compromised and that they'd have to suspend my service the following day. He then asked me to reveal what devices I had linked to my internet. I couldn't believe it! Honestly, BT Openreach never makes calls of that nature, and I double-checked with my actual provider who had no clue regarding his claims. This is definitely a scam!

Received an intriguing phone call today (03.05.17) from a chap with an accent that suggested he was from India, claiming to represent BT Openreach. He warned me that my account was at risk of suspension due to some alleged dodgy activity. When I declined to divulge any of my personal details, he seemed to lose his temper a tad and insisted that he could provide my account licence number to verify he was the real deal. Unswayed, I refused to share anything. He then threatened that if I didn’t cooperate, they'd go ahead and put my account on hold for three months, saying I should hang up if that’s what I wanted. I stood my ground, told him to find a proper job, and cut the line.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from BT OpenReach. He warned me that my wifi was under attack and would be cut off for 10 days. Said hackers were after my data to scam me. They insisted that it was crucial to update my router right then and there over the phone, or I’d be cut off from the internet once these updates rolled out. It felt rather pushy, and as soon as I declined their offer, their tone shifted to one of anger, which was quite shocking. I decided to get in touch with BT directly, and they assured me it was a scam. Apparently, once these scammers get hold of your router information, they could easily access your personal details. Best to stay vigilant!

They've been ringing me nonstop every single hour for about a week, obviously a scam pretending to be from Openreach. I decided to mess with them a bit and said I needed to grab my laptop. They insisted that I jot down certain numbers and enter a code on my laptop. I played along for a bit before cutting the conversation short and disconnecting. After that, I reached out to BT for clarification. They assured me that there were no plans to halt my Broadband, nor was there any record of such wrongdoing on my account. Apparently, Openreach don’t even reach out to customers directly. It was unmistakably a scam!

Today, I received a call from this number, but oddly enough, there was no one on the line. A few hours later, they rang again, claiming to be representatives from BT Openreach. They warned me that my internet service was about to be suspended for a week! What struck me as particularly unsettling was that they had my email address. When I probed further, asking if they had access to any of my passwords, they casually insisted they weren’t hackers. I told them I wasn’t interested in chatting and ended the call, but wouldn't you know it, they called back just minutes later with the same woman who had a distinctly Asian accent. I repeated that I wanted nothing to do with them and hung up once more.

Earlier today, around twenty-one minutes past twelve, I received a rather suspicious phone call from an individual purporting to be from an outfit called Outreach. They insisted that my internet service would be terminated within a day due to a supposed breach of my account. Ironically, I was having a chat with Talktalk concurrently, and they confirmed that there was no issue on their end, advising me to treat the call as a scam. I didn't stick around for the full spiel; I simply stated I wasn't interested in their conversation and promptly ended the call.
