+22569898104 and +22569898101 rang my lad twice on his EE phone and ended up costing us £6.00 for just 44 seconds. I’m not sure how this works, but why is it the person getting the call who has to pay? I always thought with reverse charge calls, you had to accept before being billed. Clearly that’s not the case. Luckily, EE were fantastic and gave us a full refund including VAT. You’d imagine BT and the mobile networks could easily block these numbers from reaching the UK with just a few clicks.

EE billed me for two calls from 0022569898101 and 0022569898104, showing as 'placed call - Ivory Coast.' I blocked them straight away since I didn't know the numbers, but still ended up getting charged £1.667 for the 101 number, and another £6.667 on my statement. They showed up as missed calls on my phone - pretty clear they're just scam calls.
