I got a call from this number the other day, and the bloke on the line had a really obvious foreign accent. He claimed to be from Microsoft Tech Support and said they’d detected a virus on my laptop. Which was rubbish, because I’d just done a full antivirus scan myself the day before and found nothing. I told him I reckoned he was just trying to scam me for my bank info and passwords, but he kept insisting he wasn’t. Then I asked how he could be so sure about the virus without even accessing my computer, and wouldn’t you know it, he suddenly cut me off.

Terrible connection and loads of lag. Some bloke with a weird foreign accent called saying he was from a service company and used that as an excuse to ring me even though I’m on the TPS list. I asked what kind of service provider, and he just said "windows" on my home computer. I replied, "What computer? I don’t have any PC with windows." Then he just ended the call. Proper strange.

Got a call from this number just now, but no one picked up when I answered. Absolutely no idea who they are. Honestly, this is the third unwanted call I've had today and it’s not even lunchtime yet! I'm on the TPS list, so I thought I was covered, but clearly it's useless. My phone company won't block the calls either, so I’m done with it - won’t be bothering to pick up if it rings again!

Got a call on my home phone around 5pm today, the caller ID said "International" which instantly made me wary. I ignored it, and after reading the feedback here, I’m relieved I didn’t answer. Had similar calls in the past, and they always turn out to be nothing but annoying scams.

Today at about 1 in the afternoon, I got a call at my place from this number (002147364127). The woman on the line said her name was Annie and she spoke with an Asian accent. She told me there was an issue with my Windows software and that my PC was supposedly sending out harmful messages. Since my number isn’t listed anywhere, I asked her where she found it, then just ended the call.

Some bloke called Alex Thompson claimed he was with Microsoft tech support in Manchester, telling me I had a nasty virus that needed sorting. I found it a bit dodgy hearing his Brazilian phone number mixed with an Asian accent, but I thought it might be a laugh. I played along for a while before calling him out as a scammer, and he hung up straight away. Lucky for me, I’m not an easy target.

I said hello and there was a really long pause, like ages before I heard anything. After waiting about 5 seconds, some voice finally came through. I told them they took too long to answer and then they just hung up on me. This is my sixth scam call today - do they seriously have some kind of timer or something?

Every day around 4 in the afternoon, the phone buzzes for a second then cuts off. I looked up the number online and stumbled upon this website.

This number has called me twice now. The first call was from a foreign guy who claimed my computer was infected with a virus. He tried to convince me he was from Microsoft and gave me some instructions to follow. I just told him to get lost. The next time, it was a foreign woman who kept saying ‘hello’ over and over, like she was auditioning for Adele or something. Totally sketchy.

“Hi, this is Rachel calling about your Microsoft account.” That accent? I’m not buying it. I said, “What kind of issue?” and she replied, “Your PC is infected with malware and is sending harmful data.” I was like, “Really? They ring me up daily, but as soon as I answer, they barely say anything - maybe just a quick beep or noise for about half a sec - and then cut off. It’s suspiciously short, like they’re trying to get people curious enough to phone them back without realising the costs involved. I reckon it’s a sneaky tactic to trap folks into premium rate charges. This scam’s nothing new. Do not, I repeat, do not return their calls no matter what.

I receive calls from this firm on a daily basis, and they only utter a few words before cutting the line. It's always just a fleeting half-second interaction, never more. This has led me to believe it’s some kind of tactic designed to lure in unsuspecting people into ringing them back, potentially racking up hefty charges in the process. It’s a tactic I've seen employed in the past. My advice? Under no circumstances should you ring these rogues back!

someone phoned me claiming to be from microsoft, telling me my computer was infected with a virus. i’ve had calls like this in the past so suspected it was just a scam. i told them to be honest and stop messing around, cos neither of us knew what they were talking about, then the call just dropped. the number they called from was 002147364127. i’ve already reported this to action fraud a while ago.
