Got a call at 8:40 this morning from an asian bloke. He was really rude, wouldn't let me say a word, just shouted and swore the whole time. I told him he was a right arrogant git and then hung up. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Some bloke called saying my computer had a trojan and malware, saying 60% of my programs were infected. He sounded like he was reading from a script and claimed to be calling from London, but the number was from overseas. Don’t share any info or click on any links they tell you to, just end the call straight away.

Got a call today 3/9/15 from 0019898284628, bloke said it was about my computer but seemed like a right scam and he just hung up. These calls keep coming non stop, really tired of it now. Anyone got tips? Told him off already.

I usually just ask them to say their name and the company again and then tell them thanks, I’m just double checking cause the police are involved. They hang up straight away and it seems to stop them ringing back for a while. Proper annoying and you’d think something could be done about it, dunno what though.

An Asian gentleman has rung us a few times over the past months, asking for either Mr or Mrs but kept mixing up our last names. I told him he had the wrong person and he just ended the call. He managed to speak to my partner once, claiming he was from Windows and there was an issue with the computer. My partner said she recognised it as a scam and quickly hung up. He’s made several more attempts to get our names right but hasn’t succeeded. I’m planning to report him to the telephone preference service.

I’ve gotten silence from both 03156789121 and 0019898284628 when I answer, so I tell them to speak up or stop being so shy. Usually, they just hang up straight away. This has happened repeatedly over the past few weeks. Think it’s worth getting the phone checked or tapped? As for those annoying “Indian gentleman” calls, I normally just hang up or don’t bother picking up at all.

Got a call from someone today about my “windows computer”. I told the bloke straight away we don’t have one, so there’s no point, and asked him not to ring again. Haven’t heard from him since but I reckon he’ll try again tomorrow. Is there any way to stop these scams? They’ve called me before, trying to get you to install some software so they can control your PC. I’ve played along a bit just to find out what they want. If you check out some YouTube clips of these calls, they’re actually pretty funny and eye-opening.

some guy with an indian accent called my wife and was really rude, even threatened to disable our computer. when i got on the phone, i told him if he was really from microsoft he’d know my ip address, so why not tell me? he just started yelling again so i hung up. oh and he called like three times within five minutes.

I ended the call straight away when some guy with an Indian accent asked “am i talking to..” I checked the number by dialling 1471, got it, and here i am! Proper glad I didn’t stay on the line with him. Makes me question why I even bother with a landline if this is the sort of calls I get!

Just got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming there was an issue with my computer. When I said I don’t even own one, he called me a fibber and was adamant I switch it on to check the problem. I told him Windows don’t call people and that I’d already informed the police and media, but he kept insisting there was a problem and kept calling me a liar, telling me to get off his line. Then he hung up. I'm really fed up with these calls - it’s about time the government took action against these nuisances.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from a Windows Service Centre, as if! Said I had to sit at my PC and hit some random keys. Spent about 5 mins messing around to waste his time, then I told him I’m not daft. Funny thing is, he then called me a liar and some awful names. Proper nice chap, a total hypocrite. Still, felt good turning the tables on him :)

This number called me earlier claiming to be ‘Windows tech support’. Same old story about problems on my computer. When I questioned if he really worked for Microsoft, he said yes. He tried to argue when I told him it sounded like a scam, but he stayed calm. After I told him a few times I didn’t believe him, I just ended the call.

Got a call today from a bloke with an accent claiming to be from Microsoft Windows, going on about issues with my PC. He tried the old line about a "colleague calling last week and everything's sorted" but that didn’t faze me and he started getting pretty hostile. When I refused to give a time for a callback, he got agitated and threatened to block my computer. Normally, these kinds of calls don’t bother me, but this one genuinely unsettled me. It’s scary to think about older or more trusting people getting caught up with someone like him.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a Windows server company, but it was a Mac. An Asian woman called me a fe####9 bit####d and just ended the call! It's really scary, especially if these people manage to fool vulnerable folks. I've had this happen before and played along a little, I think they try to make you visit a site to buy fake anti-virus software. Watch out for this!

Some thug phoned my elderly folks pretending there was an issue with their computer (they don’t even own one!). When my mum told him they were on the telephone preference list and asked how he found her number, he claimed he was entitled to have their info and address, which scared her big time. Plus, he was incredibly rude and nasty to my mum - like I mentioned, she’s quite upset and shaken up by the whole thing.

Today I got a call from someone who sounded Asian, telling me to turn on my computer because they said it had issues. I wasn’t having any of it, told them exactly what I thought, then ended the call and blocked the number so they wouldn’t bother me again. Sorted.
