i got a call from what seemed like some call centre abroad, likely from india. the guy said his name was ron smith (sure, as if). it wasnt the first time ive had one of these internet security scams trying to trick me. even tho i reckon it’s an indian call centre, they’re using a phone number that shows up as stamford, connecticut, which makes it tricky for bt or any authorities to take action.

I got a ring from this number, but I usually don't pick up if I don't know who it is. They didn't bother leaving a voicemail either. After seeing what others have said about it, I've gone ahead and blocked it so they can't call me anymore.

Why does bt never seem to block these annoying calls? Got one this morning from someone pretending to be about internet security. I asked them for their number and just hung up straight away.

so this lady olivia from bt rang me about some internet security thing. when i asked her for more info, she actually called me a joker! can you believe that? quite cheeky if you ask me.

Got a call claiming it was about internet security, I told them to shove off!

Got a call first thing this morning on my landline from someone claiming there was an issue with my internet security. I told them I wasn’t buying it and that they’d just disturbed my sleep. After that, I just ended the call.

I picked up my landline and the call just dropped straight away.

I let the phone ring, thinking it might be important, but it went straight to voicemail. Before I could even listen, they ended the call. So yeah, I just blocked the number.

somebody rang me pretending to be from an internet security firm working with bt. they told me there were issues with my internet and wanted me to turn on my computer so they could help fix it. i told them i'd ring bt myself to confirm if they were genuine and as soon as i said that, they just ended the call. suspicious if you ask me.

I got a call from a guy saying he was from the internet security team. He asked me which firm I worked for, I mentioned BT, and then he suddenly just hung up. The caller was a man with an Asian accent, and I could hear someone quietly whispering stuff in the background while he was talking.
