I got charged for something really frustrating and here’s what the call info showed:

Premium SMS Text Received £4.50 per message on 23-Apr-22 at around 00:46 #00089466299 5 4.5 4.5 (^) beyond your allowance 1.30718E+11 CDR

This was with Tesco Mobile. I rang up and spoke directly to someone called John in billing, not just an automated message. He promised to refund the amount and block the number causing the issue. So if you spot a similar charge, I suggest calling Tesco, asking for a refund, and telling them you’ve searched the number online and it’s a scam. The worst part is that the fee is for RECEIVING a text, which you can’t really stop or control.

Got hit with a £4.50 fee for some premium service I never signed up for, and I haven't got any messages or anything from it, just the bill. Tried sorting it with Giffgaff but they just washed their hands of it and told me to contact the PSA. Feels like a total rip-off, and I reckon the mobile companies are in on it as well!!!

I didn’t even respond to their message, but somehow this number managed to take £4.50 from me. Be careful and stay away!

Tesco mobile billed me 4.50 a text for messages I never got from this number. No clue who they are and didnt get any msgs at all. Pretty annoying!

Without any warning, I noticed some charges popped up on my phone bill. Definitely a scam, pretty dodgy stuff.

Every month without fail, this turns into a dodgy scam charging me £9 on my data SIM only plan. Proper annoying!

This is blatant rip off. For more than twelve months now I’ve been getting billed for texts that never showed on my phone screen. Didn’t agree to get them, and I blocked the sender’s number ages ago, yet the charges kept coming. Popped into Tesco to get it checked and the worker there only saw a couple of spam messages from that pricey number. But checking my account later, it turns out there’s been upwards of 14 of them! Totally dodgy.

Twice a month, this number is taking £4.50 from my phone without me agreeing to it. I've reached out to 'get fit coach's' and told them to stop, but the charges keep coming through.

Stay well clear of these lot, total scam artists. They’re pulling dodgy stunts from Cyprus and signing people up without permission. The numbers to watch out for are 07378 903141, 07378 903011, 0208 0899319, and the shortcode 66299. Their website, http://getfitcoach.co.uk/signup, spells it out in fine print: you get hit £4.50 per text, up to twice a month, charged straight to your phone bill. If you want out, you have to text 'STOP' to 66299, ring 0208 089 9319, or email [email protected]. They say the service is through Fitness Tools Online Ltd, but honestly it feels more like a rip-off. Watch yourself and don’t get caught out by this lot based at Optimum House, Antrea Patsalidi 1, 2362 Nicosia, Cyprus.

I got a weird charge of £4.50 on my phone bill from 00089466299. I’ve never signed up to get calls or messages from them and I’m definitely not a Sky customer. Really don’t know where this came from.

I just had a chat with Tesco Mobile about this situation. They told me the company involved is getfitcoach.co.uk and said I should reach out to them at 0208 089 9319, but they wouldn’t offer any more assistance beyond that.

I can't believe they charged me £4.50 just to get a text message! Who in their right mind would agree to that? This has got to be a scam. How come Tesco still hasn't blocked this number? I'm seriously expecting a refund, or else I'll be switching to a different provider.

I'm seeing weekly deductions of £4.50 on my mobile bill and I haven’t a clue who’s behind it. My phone provider gave me the number 0008946629, but they couldn't shed any light on which company it belongs to. If anyone has any insights, I’d greatly appreciate your help!

I got tricked by this one. It started with an email claiming I'd won a B&Q prize. I didn't spot the scam until it was too late and contacted Tesco Mobile who blocked all premium texts on my account. Still feeling uneasy, I ended up switching my phone number. On my most recent bill from the old number, I saw charges like £4.50 plus three separate 10p fees, adding up to £4.80 altogether. I emailed Tesco Mobile about it and thankfully they refunded me. So basically, the scam was a fake email pretending to be from a store. Nov 2016

This premium number has been ringing me loads, and I only just spotted my phone bill. It’s shot up from about £15 a month to a whopping £85! What a ripoff!

I got some texts that I never even bothered to open because I knew they were spam. But then I noticed my balance was going down by £4.50 for every message. It wasn’t until my credit ran out that I decided to ask my mobile company about it, and that’s when they explained the charges. Proper frustrating!

I’ve just encountered a similar situation myself. Without even bothering to open the message, I simply removed it, and yet I've still ended up being charged £4.50! How infuriating!

I recently received emails claiming I was entitled to a £500 gift voucher for Argos and Aldi. As I had just shopped at both places, I genuinely believed it might be a legitimate offer. I expressed my interest and soon got a text asking me to subscribe monthly for a draw. At the end of the message, it mentioned to text STOP if I wanted to opt out, so I did. However, to my dismay, £4.50 has been deducted from my account without my approval. Be cautious of texts from the last five digits: 66299. It’s all a scam!
