11 yearsI recently had a rather dubious phone call from the number 0019892520438. It had all the hallmarks of a call centre, and the chap on the other end had a noticeable Indian accent. He asserted he was from TalkTalk, claiming my computer was riddled with issues and had a staggering 97.8% corruption rate. He bombarded me with what he referred to as 'verification codes' to prove his credibility. At that moment, I started to feel rather uneasy, so I requested he ring me back later. Meanwhile, I made it clear I'd be reaching out to TalkTalk directly and seeking advice from my security provider to get to the bottom of it. He went all quiet after that... I highly doubt I'll hear from him again. Their tactic usually seems to involve offering to help locate these so-called 'issues' by gaining remote access to your device, then hitting you with a fee for assistance, all while asking for your bank details.
