I told her I hadn’t noticed any problems or asked for help, then tried to end the call. But she kept saying I shouldn’t hang up and that she was trying to assist me. I asked what company she was representing; she said something like the 'help desk' and claimed it was urgent because my computer was apparently downloading data that was increasing every day, risking my personal info getting stolen. Whenever I tried to disconnect, she got defensive and insisted she was just there to help. I decided to just hang up anyway. When I looked up that phone number later, it turned out to be linked to a scam.
