I got a call from some payday loan company claiming I owed £1,719.17 and threatening legal action if I didn’t pay by the end of the day. They said a marshal would come to arrest me if I didn’t settle up. Feeling pressured, I agreed to pay £500 straight away and set up a payment plan using my debit card. I asked them to send me proof of the debt to my email, but I have yet to receive anything. Now I’ve decided to stop making any more payments. A bank rep told me what they’re doing is actually illegal, and the worst they can do is try to garnish my wages or file for a judgement against me.

I got a call from this number earlier and it was some automated message saying I absolutely had to ring back. When I called them, I asked a few times what company they were from, and instead of answering, they just started swearing and being really rude to me.
