My mum’s been getting loads of calls lately from someone claiming to be Amazon, asking her to verify an order. They always drop this number for her to ring back.

I got a call about some charge on my Amazon account for something I didn’t even know. They told me to ring Chromecast to sort out a complaint or something, but I just said I’d get in touch with Amazon directly to dispute the charge and then I ended the call.

Got a call from this number at about 1:20 in the afternoon on July 27. Was pretty unpleasant, to be honest.

If someone rings you up claiming you’ve got criminal issues with your CRA tax file, whatever happens, don’t hand over any personal info. Instead, ask them to say your SIN number. There's no way they’ll know it since they’re faking it. That’s your chance to call them out for trying to trick you. Real CRA callers will know your SIN straight away because they have all your info on file. Lately, I reckon the scammers are switching up their game. I’ve been getting nonstop voice messages from this same number these past few days. I tried ringing back the number they left to complain, but the line at 18887690137 is always busy. Feels like they don’t want anyone to get through.

I rang this number back around 6:43 pm out of curiosity to hear what they might say, but there was no reply at all and no option to leave a voicemail either.

I told them I was a bit mental just for laughs. Funny enough, I used to be employed at the CRA and had a few mates working there too. They reckon it was most likely some kind of scam call.

This morning at 9:09 am, I got a weird call from a woman who didn't say her name. She said something like, "Call us back immediately. There's a legal suit filed in your name, and if you don’t respond before it’s officially registered, you might end up arrested. Ring our hotline 18887690137. If we don’t hear from you, the consequences are on you. Goodbye." I tried dialing that number but nobody picked up. Honestly, it was quite unsettling to listen to that message. I just hope someone can track down the person making these annoying calls. Cheers.

They have rung me thrice already and left a message saying there’s a legal case in my name. They warned if I don’t ring back or get my solicitor involved, I might be arrested. The message said to contact their hotline ASAP before things escalate. Very worrying stuff.

Got a call at about 1:55pm on the 25th July 2016. The voicemail warned me that if I didn’t ring back on that number, I’d be arrested and charged with a crime. I’m not going to return their call since it smells like a scam or some sort of phishing attempt.

got three calls from this number warning me about being arrested if i didnt ring back. sounds like a total scam to me. i didnt bother to call them back and honestly, i wouldnt recommend anyone else do either. better to just report it and forget about them.

I’ve had them ring me up three separate times now. They claim they’re from Ottawa and say the police will be at my door in 45 minutes to arrest me. The bloke says his name is Simon Smith and he’s supposedly a cop. When I asked for his badge number, he gave me 956854, but then when I asked where Ottawa is, he didn’t even know and had to shout over some noisy background while speaking terrible English.

I got calls from this number three times: once around 9:30 in the morning, then again just before 11, and a last one about 1:15 pm. I never picked up but they left voicemails saying they were from the CRA and warned I’d be arrested if I didn’t get back to them. Seems really suspicious to me!
