8 yearsI got a call from 713-589-6526 and it was some woman robot voice telling me my identity might be stolen, and to ring 866-589-9112 to sort it out. I had a bad feeling it was a scam, so I decided to check online before calling back. Lucky I did!8 yearsFunny thing, the caller ID popped up as V1278064900013 - who even answers that? Haha! Then, they left a voicemail telling me to ring 8669259112 and have my computer ready when I call. What a load of idiots!9 yearsGot a call from some female robot voice saying she was from Microsoft and that my credit card and password info had been hacked. They told me to ring 8669259112 or else my account would be frozen and my computer locked. Bit odd since they dialled my work number, so how would they even know what computer I use? I rang 4702040120, the number they called from, and got a real person on the line. The guy said he was a third party working for Microsoft and repeated the story about my computer being locked and info compromised. Then he tried to sell me fraud protection for £49.99. I got really uneasy, and as soon as he heard my patrol radio going off in the background and I said who I was, I just hung up. I’ve reported both numbers to the FCC and the FBI Fraud Division. If anyone else gets one of these calls, definitely report it yourself.MicrosoftFCCFBI Fraud Division9 yearsdefinitely felt like a real tech help group9 yearsi gotta say, every technician ive dealt with has been super helpful. really appreciate all the support from the tech team!9 yearsGot a call on my mobile on Feb 19th from a recorded female voice warning me my computer had been hacked or something like that.
