After noting down the number 1-800-268-5962 posted earlier, I contacted them only to be informed that they exclusively handle inbound calls and do not make outbound calls. Consequently, I dialled the number 1-866-457-9436 to address my concerns. I explained that I do not possess a BMO account and requested for my number to be taken off their list. Accordingly, I provided them with my number, which, to my surprise, had been associated with a different individual in the past. The removal process may take up to 14 days.

For an entire month, twice a day without fail, this situation has become absurd. I own an answering machine, so if the calls were urgent, they could have left a message. Unfortunately, they continue to make these unwanted calls.

Despite explicitly instructing them not to sign me up or send any materials, I received an agreement in the mail two weeks later as if I had already agreed. It is extremely frustrating that the agreement does not provide a contact number to cancel the service.

Today, I received a call from BMO after several persistent attempts on their part. Upon answering, it became apparent that the caller represented an insurance affiliate of BMO, promoting life insurance. In order to put a stop to their sales pitch, I informed them that I was not interested as I already possess a life insurance policy through my employer (although I am uncertain if this is the case). They tried to entice me by mentioning that the policy would be free for a month, but I firmly declined once again. The call ended with both parties thanking each other politely, leading me to believe that further calls will be avoided.
