I've noticed that when I answer their calls, they just stay silent. I reckon it’s so they can get a recording of my voice. After that, they start going on about some unpaid bill and try to hand me over to their supposed department. They just want me to say something like "yes" or "alright" so they can claim I've acknowledged the debt and then, bam, they try to take money from you. They’re actually quite daft though, since I started picking up without saying a word, they've been ringing me loads more often, but I just waste their time now.

Wouldn’t even chat with me unless I handed over all my details upfront, ha! As if I don’t spend my time online checking out all the scams. Got really annoyed when I asked to speak to a manager, kept saying they're a legit company and to just trust them, like really? Even if this was about some unpaid bill, it’d be from like 15 years ago, totally off my credit now. What a load of idiots!

Rogers offloads your debt, and these debt collectors pick it up for a tiny fraction (like 6p in the £1). They actually cover what you owe, unsecured, then try all sorts of pressure to get more cash out of you! Honestly, I just tell them thanks for clearing my debt!

So, this number rang me earlier but I missed it. Being curious, I called back using a blocked number so they wouldn't see my house phone. The bloke on the other end claimed it was a legal issue and asked for my birthday, then mentioned something about a Rogers account from 2007. I found it odd since I've had a Rogers phone for over four years now, and if I owed £1000 from that long ago, don't you think I'd have had my phone disconnected? Then he gave me an account number to ring Rogers about. When I phoned Rogers, the lady said it sounded dodgy because my line would've been cut off ages ago if that was true. I looked up the number online and saw loads of warnings about scam calls linked to it. I’m thinking of ringing them back pretending to be someone else just to see what rubbish they come up with next.

They rang me up and straight away started asking for all my details without even saying what the call was about. I didn't fancy giving out any info, so I just ended the call. Feels like a dodgy scam to me.

I got a call and immediately thought it might be a scam. So, I looked up the number here and wanted to add my thoughts. I’m not really sure if the scammers are pretending to be Affinity Global from Markham, ON or what’s going on? The genuine number I found online is different, and when you ring it, you get a proper greeting with the company’s name. The suspicious call came from a number that used something like AFFGLO as an abbreviation or whatever.

They keep ringing me up, claiming I owe money on a student loan, which is totally untrue. I paid it off ages ago and have the receipts to prove it. They threatened to have me thrown in jail within 48 hours if I don't pay. This has been going on for about a year now. What’s weird is they’re using my married name, but I never took out a student loan under that. It’s so frustrating. They call at all hours - like 6 in the morning, midday, dinner time, and even as late as 11:30 at night. At one point, they even tried somehow linking the phone to a male friend’s name but somehow still managed to pin it on me. I reckon they’re just grabbing numbers from credit records or something along those lines. The whole thing kicked off right after I bought a new car.

This number rang me the other day, and they already knew my name and phone number. However, once I shared my date of birth, they claimed I wasn’t who they were after. Seems like they might have been trying to find my son since he has the same name as me. It feels very suspicious and like a possible scam to me. I’m thinking it’s best my son steers clear of this. I keep getting calls about some Wells Fargo loan from 2003 that supposedly is overdue. They get really annoyed and keep saying they've sent me paperwork, but I honestly haven't received a single thing from them. The strangest part? I've never even done any business with Wells Fargo in the first place!
