Beware of a fraudulent scam involving US green cards

I recently received a call where someone asked for my card details. However, I refused to provide them with the information as I suspected it was a fraudulent call. They seemed agitated and said they would call me again tomorrow for my card details. Clearly, this is a spam call. These individuals are dishonest individuals who cannot be trusted. Furthermore, their accent did not sound American at all. This experience was very frustrating.

Yes, initially I was quite convinced that it was authentic, but I ended up being scammed. It's quite laughable, really.

I received a phone call on the 23rd of February. During our conversation, Amy, an English native from the USAG Green Card program, also emailed me. She provided a link to the official website but included a telephone number: +18662434612. Interestingly, she called me from Germany with the number +49301999922869. It was quite unsettling because she seemed to be aware of my application details and insisted that I pay $1500. This was clearly a highly organized spam attempt!

I have been receiving emails from the email address ([email protected]) for about a year now, regarding the Green card visa. Today, on February 20th, 2016, I received a phone call from a lady who requested several pieces of information from me. She told me that I had a chance of being successful in obtaining the green card and even asked me for information regarding my visa card.

They have a few queries regarding credit cards and their details, such as numbers, expiry dates, and CVV codes. I must clarify that the information shared is fraudulent.

This appears to be a scam, as the scammers have also requested my personal card information.

After providing an abundance of information, the individual made me believe that it was highly likely not a scam. However, I became suspicious when he repeatedly requested my card details and abruptly ended our conversation upon learning that I didn't have my card with me at the moment. To ensure your safety, it is advisable to opt for an embassy for your green card application.

What steps can I take to safeguard against potential scams?

I have come across this website called usagc and they charged me a fine. When I provided my visa details, I was aware that there was not enough money in my account. However, I recently discovered that it is actually a scam and now I am worried because they have my personal information. Do you think it would be wise for me to cancel my card and request a replacement?

Do not fall for the scam of the [USAGC ORGANIZATION]. They pretend to be a friendly private company offering assistance in the green card lottery program, but it is all a lie. They ask for payment of process fees, but they are just trying to deceive you. Be cautious and avoid them at all costs.
