This morning, I got a voicemail on this line that looked like an old one I thought I'd deleted. I tried clicking back to ring Jim, who was supposed to have left it, but ended up calling this number by mistake. Realising it, I hung up and rang Jim directly, but he said he hadn’t left any messages today. I then searched the number online and saw loads of folks reporting it as scammy or spammy. After that, I called Vodaphone customer support on 191 and spoke to KG in the South Africa team, who kindly blocked all premium rate calls on my phone. They also told me there wasn’t any dodgy activity happening so far. Honestly, best customer service I’ve had with Vodaphone in a while, fingers crossed it keeps any dodgy calls away now.

Looks like 864236245 is the usual voicemail number, at least with Vodafone. (If you look at a phone keypad, those numbers actually spell 'voicemail'.) Whenever I get a voicemail alert on my Vodafone line, the texts come from that number. And when I press the 'green' button to listen to my messages instead of dialing 121, the call logs show it as 864236245. It really caught me off guard the first time! I even called customer support but they had no idea what that number was, which didn't help me feel any better.
