I got a call from this number, and the person on the line kept saying I needed to call back or my case would go straight to court. The guy’s accent was so thick I could barely make out what he was saying. He threatened that the police would show up at my house and throw me in jail. When I tried ringing back, he asked me for all my details, like full name, address, and date of birth, but I refused to give anything. I told him I knew how the CRA works and called out the call for what it was - a scam - then just hung up. Right after, I went to my local police station and reported the call, and also let the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre know about it. Such a dodgy situation!

I got a call from this number saying I supposedly owe £2800 for fraud that happened in the past few years. The person on the line insisted they couldn’t send any letters or documents through the post and that all communication had to be done by phone.

I got the usual voicemail like loads of others here... rang back using another number, bloke asked who I was, then heard me fiddling with my keyboard, and suddenly he wondered if I was googling him before just cutting me off. I tried a few more times but mostly got no reply. When someone finally picked up, they gave me a totally different name, and as soon as I asked what place I'd actually rung, they slammed the phone down on me. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from some bloke pretending to be the CRA. When my husband rang back to check, the guy just told him to piss off and slammed the phone down. No doubt, total scam.

So, I got a letter from the CRA once and it was all about some kind of investigation. I didn't get most of it, apart from bits like CRA, urgent, call back soon, lawyer, and legal stuff going on. Honestly, i’d just say don’t bother with this joker. My phone showed the number was coming from the States anyway.

Got a call from this number saying I needed to ring them back straight away, said it was urgent. So I did call back, and the bloke on the other end told me the CRA had given them the job to take legal steps against me. Total scam, no doubt about it. It really threw me into a right state - one of the worst stressful times I've had. Fingers crossed this dodgy person gets nabbed soon.

The bloke spoke with such a thick accent that I couldn’t make out most of what he was saying, apart from when he mentioned I needed to ring him back or else I'd be in trouble... I got a call from this number the other day, and there was a voicemail claiming to be from the CRA, threatening legal trouble if I didn’t ring them back right away. The bloke was really difficult to comprehend! I checked the number against those listed on the official CRA site and it’s definitely not one of theirs. No way am I hanging up the phone for that one.

They’ve been ringing me and loads of folks I know as well, so I decided to ring back. When I asked for their staff ID, I told them I was with the CRA and looking into their accounts for fraud and some dodgy business. As soon as I said that, the bloke just hung up on me. Honestly, found it quite funny. This scam’s been going on for a good three months now, no doubt about it.

I got a voicemail from some bloke claiming to be with the CRA's Tax Crime Investigation team at around 10:40am on the 8th of August, 2016. He told me I needed to ring him straight back as soon as I heard the message. That’s dodgy talk and nothing like what the real CRA would say, so I’m pretty sure it's a scam.
