Honestly, that guy running this scam really needs to stop, and all those dodgy callers should just disappear as well.

This number rang me a couple times, trying to sell me a lower interest rate on my credit card. I’m well aware it’s a con, so I mess around with them a bit. I act like the line’s crackling or cutting out, saying stuff like there seems to be some kind of problem with the signal. Usually, they just give up and hang up, only to ring back soon after. Then I repeat the same joke all over again. It’s been quiet from them for about 4 months now. I’ve started doing this with every dodgy call I get. Never admitting anything.

I’m getting spammed with calls like crazy - 11 times just this week! No idea how to put a stop to it. I tried telling Bellaliant about it yesterday, but they said there’s nothing they can do. It’s really frustrating.

Been getting calls from this number multiple times a day, like 3 or 4 or even 5 times, and I dont even answer. Tried blocking but they keep coming. Really annoying!

Picked up the phone but there was nobody speaking on the other end.

I keep getting calls from them non-stop. It’s always the same message about cutting down my interest rate. I usually just hang up. After the latest one, I asked Telus to block the number. But then, just a few hours later, a different unknown number rings me up with the identical recorded message. I figured I’d try pressing 1 this time to see if anything changes. Nope, total silence. No person on the other end at all.

Give your phone or mobile network a ring and find out how to block this number from getting through. Avoid signing up for Do Not Call lists since that just lets them know a real person is on the other end. If you still use an answerphone, try setting the greeting so it sounds like a fax machine line - that usually puts a stop to the calls. (Just make sure you tell your mates about it first.) Companies don’t want to waste time leaving messages for a fax. Personally, I only get annoyed by them maybe once a month now. And to the one talking about horse-drawn carriages, some of us seriously deal with constant pestering.

I've gotten a few calls from this number while living in Manitoba. I finally picked up and spoke with a man who sounded foreign and vaguely said he was from a credit card company, but he wouldn’t give any clear details. When I mentioned that scam calls are rampant these days, he insisted it wasn’t a scam, yet he couldn’t really answer any of my questions properly. There was quite a bit of noise in the background, like he was in a noisy little call centre. The call suddenly cut off and I haven’t had any further contact from them so far.

This number rings me several times every day. I picked up once and told them they don’t know anything about my credit card, then some bloke from the Philippines just dropped the line. And naturally, when I try to call back, no luck getting through. Can’t figure out how they keep getting away with this.

Looks like a scam to me. They were pretending to be from some kind of interest cutback service, claiming they worked with Visa and Mastercard. Definitely just fishing for personal details.
