I’m receiving calls at work from these individuals who are ominously warning me about wage garnishment if I don’t settle a credit card bill for an account I’ve never even owned!

A couple of weeks back, I had a phone call with my mother, who has mobility issues, regarding a civil issue in another state. I’m employed by the government and have a clean slate concerning any civil or criminal matters. It seems I've now encountered a dubious debt collection agency. They rang me at work just today and left a message insisting they need to speak with me, but the home addresses they provided are completely fake, likely attempts to elicit a return call. I’ve had my share of credit troubles in the past, but those are well beyond the statute of limitations-over ten years ago, in fact. I’m not inclined to reach out to these “individuals” at all.
