I received a call from someone who identified himself as Matthew Paul. He insisted that I hop on my computer right away, claiming there were errors and warnings in the mmc that were messing with my files. I kept him on the line for a bit, having a bit of fun with his claims until I got fed up and decided to end the conversation. Almost immediately, he rang me back, but I opted to cut him off again. He tried once more, twice in fact, but I chose to let it go to voicemail both times. After that, I didn't hear from him again.

I recently encountered a rather dodgy tech support scam. They managed to gain remote access to my device and wiped everything clean. The moment I hesitated to send them any money or agree to their so-called virus protection services, they started messing up my files. It's infuriating! Do yourself a favour and reach out to the authorities if you find yourself in a similar situation. They get quite aggressive and start hurling insults. Their accents were distinctly Indian, which raises concerns. I’d say it’s high time we addressed this issue seriously and see some action taken against such scammers!
