Got a call warning me my computer was hacked and all my info was being stolen. They insisted I ring their number to sort it out or else they'd shut my PC down and report me to the cyber police. Total scare tactic if you ask me!

My laptop keeps crashing because this keeps appearing all the time.

My laptop suddenly froze and wouldn't shut down. Then an automated call came through, warning me not to switch off the computer before dialling 184469263 05, or else my bank and credit card details would be stolen. It was pretty late, and the automated message was only in French, so I didn't really get what it said. I just ended up unplugging the whole thing to shut it down. Definitely a scam. Ever since, every time I start my laptop, that same issue pops up again.

Typical rubbish. I tried getting their Microsoft ID tech line, they just put me on hold and then cut me off.

I rang back the number +15617574186 and when they answered, there was complete silence. Honestly, seems dodgy to me, probably a scam. I'd stay clear and not listen to anything they might try to say.

classic internet scam, one of those annoying "fake Microsoft warning" popups saying your computer’s infected or some nonsense, number was 18446926305. when i’m bored as hell, i usually ring them back just to waste their time. usually when i’m doing chores or laundry or something, i’ll put them on hold randomly for like 10-15 mins and they just wait there, like proper patient. i think the company calls themselves supportbuddy.net or something like that. after messing with them a few times, they ended up blocking my number, which was kinda funny. so then i just get a new number from apps like nextplus and call back again to annoy them some more. honestly, never get the same person twice, must be hundreds of these call centre folks stuck doing this. and seriously, never ever let these scammers get remote access to your PC. if you do fall for it, make sure you contact your banks and credit card companies straight away and get your cards replaced and all that.
