My wife received a message from this number claiming to be from Royal Mail, suggesting she pay £1 to avoid her parcel being returned. She’s usually quite astute when it comes to these things, but they managed to trip her up this time. After she shared her card details, she promptly got two follow-up texts from different sites requesting verification for charges of £300 and £49. We’ve since contacted the bank and they’ve blocked her card. We’re both generally clued up on these scams, but it only takes one slip-up. It really makes you wish there was a reliable method to track these numbers, doesn’t it?

I suspect they might attempt to use the card for transactions - especially if you happen to get those verification messages for payments. We've decided to cancel our cards just to err on the side of caution.

Received a message claiming they had my parcel and required some information else it would be returned. Foolishly, I clicked on the link thinking it was from Royal Mail. The site asked for my bank details to supposedly pay a £1.99 fee for the release of my package! Thankfully, I didn't input any information and exited the link immediately. I’m just praying that they can’t extract any of my details from that click.
