9 yearsSo, this woman rang up and left a message for my sister, saying I had to ring back and mention a file number. When I called, she put me through to a bloke called Tony Vega who said he worked for Regional Account Services (RAC). He started asking for my social security number and birthdate, but I refused to give it. Even though he said he already had it on record, I still didn’t hand over any details. Then he claimed I owed a huge sum to some jewellery shop I’ve never even been to. He wanted me to agree to pay half or face court papers sent to an old address I haven’t lived at for over a decade. I told him I’d have my family solicitor get in touch using the number he gave, and that’s when he started shouting and became aggressive. Honestly, this is a total scam.
