The reason I'm inclined to believe it's on the level is that it prompted me to input my date of birth. When I accidentally typed in the wrong one, it was quick to identify the error. We've been receiving incessant calls from this number claiming they have a vital message regarding our Scotia account. What I find particularly peculiar is that our accounts are held in both our names, alongside my husband's second surname, which is what they keep referencing. It leads me to suspect that this might be a scam perpetuated by someone associated with the bank or the postal service, as we ensure that any paperwork with personal details is shredded rather than just tossed in the rubbish. Honestly, the automated message is rather off-putting; who in their right mind would even think of returning such a call?

I don't see why Scotiabank would need to ring me, even though I am a customer. It seems clear to me that these calls are linked to a certain product, judging by the manner in which I’ve been contacted. Could this be an instance of data being compromised, or have they passed on our personal details?

It might be wise for everyone to raise their concerns about this.
