So it turns out it wasn't a scam after all. It was actually the collections dept from Scotiabank ringing me about a credit card bill I had overdue by more than a month. Calling the number they left was pretty annoying though. I gave up and just used the contact number on my card instead, which worked and I cleared things up. I also told them their way of reaching out is pretty rubbish, especially with all the scams floating around - these days no one trusts calls like that.

I've been getting loads of calls every single day from this number, just like others have mentioned. It’s been going on for several days now, really annoying. I’m actually with Scotiabank, but they’ve got no legit reason to be ringing me like this. The way they started speaking was pretty clear it’s linked to a certain product, which makes me wonder if there’s been a leak or if they’ve sold our info somewhere. Honestly, they ring me literally every single day. You’d reckon after about the 20th attempt, they’d get the hint and stop bothering. But nope, they just keep going. If I haven’t picked up the last 20 calls, what makes them think I’ll suddenly answer the next 20? Complete muppets, honestly!

I really don’t get why the authorities don’t just shut down these numbers. I get calls from the same one about five times daily, and I’ve already blocked them from texting or ringing me. It’s like they find a way around it every time.
