I got a call from someone claiming they wanted to refund me $300 because a ‘popup’ software I bought wasn’t working right. They asked for access to my bank account to send the money. Then they said they’d mistakenly sent me $3,000 instead of $300. When I logged in, it did show £3,000 extra in my account. The guy, who said his name was David, sounded really stressed about getting in trouble with his boss. Feeling sorry for him, I agreed to help by sending back the £2,500 they said they sent by mistake, and they told me to keep £500 for my trouble. They wanted me to send the money through a MailGram to someone in Thailand. I went to the store and tried to do as they said but MailGram stopped the transfer and told me it was a scam - they’d seen it happen before. I checked with my bank, and they confirmed the £3,000 wasn’t really there at all. They gave me a new debit card and put the £2,500 back in my account. That was a close shave!

I got called by someone pretending to be from Apple Support. Turns out they’re just scammers trying to nab your personal details! Be very careful, these folks are definitely trying to hack you!

Just like someone said before, a popup came up on my screen claiming to be a trojan virus warning. It asked for permission to get into my PC and then tried to charge me £145 for removing it. Total scam if you ask me!
