I received a call a little while ago. It was an automated call claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs, stating that I needed to contact them urgently. Honestly, I find it quite amusing. At times, I contemplate disconnecting my landline because almost all the calls I receive turn out to be scams.

I disregarded the phone call made by a particular phone number that appeared as a pay phone number on my caller ID. A recorded message was left, claiming to be a "FINAL CALL" concerning an IRS lawsuit. It also provided another number to contact in relation to the purported legal action. Given that I had not received any previous communication regarding an IRS lawsuit, the idea of receiving a "final notice" on something I had no knowledge of left me feeling worried. Hence, without delay, I dialed the second provided number. However, upon calling it, I was greeted by an automated message stating that the number was unassigned at Magic Jack.com. I am unfamiliar with this platform and found it highly suspicious. It seems evident that this is an instance of fraudulent activity where deceptive methods are used to prompt individuals into making contact.

As a registered TPS, I continue to receive unwanted automated PPI scam calls. There is an option to unsubscribe by dialing 9, but I am concerned that doing so may lead to my contact information being sold to other scammers or result in excessive charges on my phone bill.

For the past month, this Indian gentleman whom I unfortunate to encounter has persistently been contacting me on a weekly basis. Much to my dismay, he recently disclosed his unsavoury intentions in a rather explicit manner. This rude individual truly deserves to be confined in a penal institution, where his inappropriate advances would be appropriately addressed. Oh, how amusing - haha! May I wonder what brings him to call Canada?

A person claiming to represent British Gas and EDF contacted me by phone, offering a 40% discount on utility bills. The caller, who had an Asian accent, attempted to obtain personal information such as my first name and date of birth. This information could potentially grant access to certain websites during the password renewal process. When I asked which organization he was representing, he abruptly ended the call. It is necessary to investigate this phone number and determine the intentions of its owner, particularly since he mentioned me being a pensioner. There is a possibility that they are specifically targeting elderly individuals.
