Claiming to be representatives of eBay, individuals requested my birth date and address from two decades ago. In addition, they sought for my current address and telephone number. The manner in which they initiated their request strikes me as highly unprofessional, even for someone engaged in fraudulent activities.

Legitimate contact number for eBay customer service. This number connects to their call centres in the USA, Dublin, Manila, and other locations where I have personally spoken to representatives. It also relates to eBay's payment handling system.

Silent calls have been reported but it's important to remember that this is an automated service and there may not always be an agent on the line when you answer. There is typically a few second delay from when you pick up the call until an agent joins as the automated service initiates the call.

I initially thought I was speaking to the customer service of eBay, but upon reading about it being a PayPal scam on this website, I now believe it was precisely that. The reason for my call was to address an issue with a recent sale on eBay where it stated that the item was awaiting payment. However, at the bottom of the same page, it showed that the buyer had already paid. It confused me, especially since I had just tried setting up a PayPal account. The person I spoke to had a foreign accent. It's disheartening to encounter scammers like this! Personally, I always value honesty and believe in treating everyone equally. It's unfortunate that such foolishness exists in the world we live in today.

I requested a call back from eBay. A friendly chap contacted me on the given number. He addressed me by name and understood the purpose of my call. He promptly answered my routine question and within 2 minutes, there was a note of my query on my eBay account. Therefore, it becomes clear that this person was indeed from eBay.

Yesterday I had a conversation with eBay in order to sort out a conflict with a buyer. However, this evening at 10 pm, I received a phone call but there was no one on the other end of the line. This is extremely strange and now I'm starting to feel worried.

I called the eBay helpline and connected with a gentleman who reached out on three separate numbers - 020 8080 2164, 18015451800, and a mobile phone number. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and requested to be transferred, he informed me that all operators were busy. Frustrated, I decided to end the call and proceeded to receive two additional calls from different numbers.

I recently received a phone call from a number located in Midvale, UT, USA. The caller claimed to be from eBay and requested that I provide verification of my identity as a seller on their platform. They asked for my user name and email address. However, I became suspicious as I was unfamiliar with the number, so I decided to call back using the official eBay contact number listed on their website. The caller insisted that they just wanted to ensure the legitimacy of my account and only needed confirmation that I was selling items that I had listed. Immediately after the phone call, I contacted eBay to report the incident. They informed me that there was no record of such a call in their system and assured me that they would never ask for such information over the phone. They took immediate action to block the user from accessing my eBay profile and advised me to contact PayPal to ensure the security of my account.
