Today, I had a rather unsettling experience with a call from 800-959-5525. I chose not to pick up, but a chap left a rather alarming voicemail claiming that I owe GST/HST and that I won’t be eligible for a refund until my tax returns are submitted. The call appeared to be from an office in London, Ontario. Just to be clear, we submitted our taxes to the Sudbury office quite some time ago. This feels seriously dodgy - definitely a scam. Be wary and don’t get duped!

I contacted the business owner to ask for their GST number, as they had a few queries regarding their account. They requested that I confirm their government badge number first. After providing that number, I received a call from a man who insisted he wouldn't verify the badge unless I disclosed our GST number. I found this a tad suspicious and decided to end the conversation there.

I got a rather suspicious call from +1 (431) 336 1274, purporting to be from the Canadian Revenue Agency. They mentioned that a certain Kim Dupuis had supposedly given them permission to access my CRA account entirely. They instructed me to ring +1 (800) 959 5525 to either verify or dispute this claim. Quite concerning, I must say!

Caught myself in quite a dodgy situation! I was after some information, but this bloke seemed completely clueless and then went ahead asking for my National Insurance number. Rather alarming, to be honest - it was hard to distinguish him from an actual representative. The hold times, the options presented - all so similar to what you'd expect from HMRC!

Fraud alert! It seems they're laying the groundwork for a con. When they ring you later on, they'll assert there's a warrant for your arrest or that you have a court appearance looming. The twist? They'll ask you to cough up some bitcoins to settle this supposed tax issue, promising it'll all blow over.

I’ve just received a letter insinuating that we need to register for a GST number due to some phantom income. The entire presentation-letterhead, envelope, you name it-was suspiciously reminiscent of the Canada Revenue Agency’s format. The letter even urges the recipient to ring a specific phone number. I highly recommend double-checking the legitimate CRA contact number to clear things up. If a significant number of folks reach out to the CRA, perhaps they’ll take action against this fraudulent activity. What do you think?

It's advisable to look up the genuine Canadian Revenue Agency online. Always use the official contact numbers for the CRA instead of the ones provided in these dodgy messages. Remember, the authentic CRA won't leave messages like that. If you’re consistently submitting your tax returns, there’s really nothing to fret about. Stay alert!

I've received multiple calls from this number, and they've been intimidating me with threats of being arrested unless I settle an alleged "debt". I've gone ahead and blocked them, but I truly hope the culprits get uncovered and put out of business for good.
