7 yearsGot a dodgy call today with some recorded message claiming it was the Social Security Office about something urgent. Earlier this morning, I’d already got a similar message from a different number, both telling me to stay on the line. The two numbers that called were 800-686-9769 and 800-686-8537. I hung around to see if someone would answer and when a bloke finally did, I didn’t quite catch his name straight away. When I asked who he was trying to reach, he said my name, but I didn’t really confirm I was the right person. Then I asked who he was exactly, and he said he was from the Social Security Office and then asked for my Social Security Number. I told him that I’d already spoke to the real office about these calls and they said they don’t phone, only send letters, and that I wasn’t going for any of it.
